At first, I admit that I was so wrong about my opinion on the perfect scores this game received, any perfect score everywhere made me hesitate to try them cause I always question everything "Is it really that good? is it just a bias..." I'm a master of procrastination... and I was so wrong I was soo WRONG. This game totally blows up our minds smh.
But it accidentally gave me the great chance to cheer my BFF up during a tough time, not sure it could be a perfect time but hope it did help a little, and how wonderful it is the story of this game is totally all about FRIENDSHIP!!!!!
Due to our personal reasons, we had to divide the playtime across 3 months since the start to complete it. However it could still be the most beautiful thing to celebrate our 10 years of friendship since we met in high school. This game remind me of so many things we've been through together, we both introverts so not open up much about each other much from the beginning, we can understand each other when things happened, and this is our true connection. Now we can just read each other's mind just by using telepathy (づ￣ v￣)づ~~~~~~~~~~~（＾∀＾●）ﾉｼ
SPLIT FICTION once more retells me that the only way to fully understand someone is to experience their life, that we impossible for us to do in reality, this world getting louder, for someone want to find a right person to open up to, it's getting more difficult, so we might have to look at their creation, what they've done, what they doing carefully so we could offer a hand when necessary.
This game absolutely a perfect combination of the creativity of puzzle design emphasizes teamwork and communication; the emotions of story driving about friendship, mutual understanding, the value of human creativity and imagination; and the nostalgia of the history of game industry through dozens of easter eggs,
I can't find the better word for this co-op masterpiece. Perfection.
You can choose anyone to play this game with, but I honestly recommend playing this game with any close friend, it could really strengthen the bond between the two. Make it memorable!\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

And the gameplay both fails to live up to It Takes Two and also fails to improve on any of its flaws. Most apparent and most unfortunate is that is zero reason to ever explore. There is nothing there, anywhere. Just go straight ahead, over and over. The actual *fun* moments are so few and few between, maybe every 30 minutes of play you get 5-10 minutes of decent platforming, 10+ minutes of excruciating story, and another 10 minutes of running around with very little going on. The graphics were gorgeous and the story was so rich and immersive! I played it with a controller connected to my pc and I do think it was more enjoyable than it would be with keyboard and mouse. As someone who played with controller for the first time I have to say I'm glad I picked Mio, because Zoey seemed a little bit mechanically challenging at times. For a game that focuses on creativity and how important is to have your own ideas - it just falls flat in that regard. There are some GREAT moments here, spread thin across a sea of mediocrity. Maybe if the 20hour story would be trimmed, I would enjoy it more. Less filler, more meat on the bones! Game is really dragging in the last few hours and it completely ruins the experience. You’ll be hoping that maybe next level will have some new mechanic or a gimmick that the game doesn’t recycle.. You’ll be hoping the story gets engaging. Spoiler, it never does.
Second thing - characters. Bland, using cliched language and mostly just a walking-talking stereotypes. Nothing the protagonists say has any weight. You will find yourself skipping dialogue constantly. Bad writing gets on my nerves especially. I know it’s an “action game” and not a drama, but it does not mean I should suffer through cringe every time any main character opens its mouth.
In the end, I had some fun, gameplay is mostly tight and fair… maybe excluding brain-dead puzzles that are here just to extend gameplay time. I mean, waste your time.
In the other hand. my co-op partner got tired of the game somewhere in the half way mark and expressed great relief at the sight of credits rolling.
I still would give Split Fiction a mild 5/10, but since there’s no “meh” option on Steam - no recommendation.

Coming off of It Takes Two, which I immensely enjoyed, and being a writer myself, I was super excited for a Hazelight Studios romp through another world. How naive I was.
Instead, I got what is probably the greatest personal disappointment of my gaming hobby.
I understand the writing and characters are not the point of this game. However, to paraphrase a wise man on the internet: "Trying to look past the horrible writing to find the good things in Split Fiction brings to mind the phrase 'But other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?'"
When you're doing a story about STORIES where the main characters are WRITERS, the narrative element should probably be somewhere above keyboard diarrhea generated by a lobotomized monkey.
The characters are awful. Not just that they're poorly written, but they're just horrible people. This could be forgiven - there are plenty of likable nasty characters - but Zoe and Mia are both nasty and mind-numbingly stupid, which is an unforgivable combination.
The gameplay is good in the beginning, but there are certain levels that are incredibly tedious. There are some creative ideas, but it wasn't enough to sustain my interest.

The only things that left a slightly unpleasant aftertaste were:
