From the trailers the gameplay looked pretty fun unfortunately I support people not robots. But man, not to be that guy, the AI is so obvious in this game that it really ruins the experience. AI voices, ai cutscenes, it's not even subtle. The UI and overall gameplay need some polish as well. For 13$ I thought I'd take the plunge but the more I played the more obvious it seemed that it needs more polish. There is an AI disclosure in the description, but the ai generated scenes and animations are so clunky and horrible that you could tell there was almost zero effort put into the game because the "short video sequences" are 2 minute long cutscenes. And most of the cutscenes in the game are in 240p!

I liked the art style when I first saw this game and became interested but it was an immediate turn off once I saw the ai generated cutscene at the beginning. Even the combat looked wonky with the animations.

The painterly style, the characters, the world, the plot, gameplay, everything. But I'm sorry, AI generation CANNOT fulfill that vision. The devs have said they could not achieve that vision they want and instead turned to AI for their cutscenes and voices. No, that's not how it works.

The cutscenes were very hard to watch, but stayed until the tutorial was over. I will say, the gameplay and mechanics are actually the only thing I liked seeing.

I refunded. However, I believe there is still hope. I hope to see massive changes and actual work from real artists to do the rest of the game, even to the final version of this game. I love Vaporworld, and I hope. So please, to the devs, I wish to see it succeed through organic, raw artwork. Until then, I do plan to re-buy again when the changes are made.\t\t\t\t\t

I’m all for calling out scummy behavior in games development, but this game doesn’t seem to be that. The gameplay is pretty insane, and this seems to be a project built for the right reasons. Invisible settings menu, subtitles box visible but no text, no mouse support, items not showing in the inventory, learning introduction bugged - i cant even start the game properly, let alone play it. But AI removal hotfix comes first, i understand - nowadays you get lynched for lesser things. Hope fixing your game will be in the next patch. OR, you can write the manifesto about how AI is very bad and a big no-no - that'll surely help!\t\t\t\t\t

Combat is soulslike with soulslike elements like beacons to rest, interesting talent trees, enhancements and consumables. Will update once I play more.
