However, given the massive success of the original game, its development trajectory feels concerningly reminiscent of troubled early access titles like KSP 2. We see an initial early access release carrying a full-price tag, followed by glacially slow updates peppered with defensive marketing maneuvers—such as charity drives meant to alleviate community fears of an abandonment-and-run. Having witnessed this pattern before, it is wise to hold off on purchasing until there is proof the game will actually reach completion. \n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tJust finished all the story content the game has to offer so far, and as you can see in my hours played counter, it didn't take all that long. As the game is now (which I know is early access), if you're only buying it for the story, it isn't worth the $30 price tag.
As for the actual gameplay, the game is absolutely gorgeous. I would prefer if it were a bit better optimized for lower power systems like my own, but I was still able to get a smooth 50-60 fps on medium settings, which still managed to look better than a lot of other games.
I didn't personally experience too many bugs, especially not ones that would interrupt my gameplay in any meaningful way. There was the occasional dancing fish or teleporting creature, but that's not a super big deal for me. Most were just funny.
I only really have one big issue with the game right now: you can't really do anything to fight back against hostile creatures. I've tried using various tools to push them away or scare them off but nothing seems to work, and it can be very frustrating constantly getting rammed or shot while trying to explore or gather resources.
So yeah. Game's got great potential, and I like where its going, but it's not really worth the $30 yet content wise.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

Also the current stance of the developers suck, Whom will remain nameless, Would sooner suggest we play other games then take in valid criticism and suggestions of what the community actually want, Simply because they have a new pacifist viewpoint where they don't think you should be able to fight back.

Its not survival and exploration, its some twisted subversion to this alien world at the expense of the humans that arrive. You cannot kill or harm anything even in self defense. i am a massive fan of the other 2 games. so i want to see this one be as good.
This game has that UE5 look and feel. the origional's had a unique look, feel and sound to them.
This game is small for a subnautica game
The only vehicle has only 1 module
You are alone on a dangerous alien planet but cannot defend yourself as its not posible to kill any of the hostile lifeforms, but is ok to eat the little helpless ones. WTH
And the system requirements dont seem to line up with the look of the game. But thats most UE5 games.
i just hope the Dev\\s passion for the game was not ruined by the war with the publisher as thats what "Fixing" this game will require.
Would love to change this to a thumbs up. and seeing some love for the game from the dev's is whats required for that. Have not seen anything other than allot of hotfixes since launch.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

I had some funny bugs where I got launched into the air or somehow got infinite oxygen. Some friends had the same thing happen. It's Early Access, so bugs are expected, and honestly, it was pretty fun.
