I do have a few complaints:
- Personally, I don't like that the parry is activated when you release the block. I'd prefer to parry when I press the block button. I understand the logic behind it, but I don't like it and end up hardly ever using it.
- Enemies clip onto the terrain. This happens a lot in some areas. Sometimes you just see them pass through walls and nothing happens, but other times they get stuck and can't move.
Otherwise, I recommend it. It lasts about 20 hours and has a New Game+ mode.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

Turns out a hermit crab swapping out shells is a cooler and more interesting equipment mechanic than any of FromSoft's tedious upgrade paths. They've also managed to make blocking an interesting playstyle rather than a safety net for players who can't find the dodge button.
It's also surprisingly nuanced and earnest in its satire despite wearing its anxiety about late stage capitalism the anthropocene on its sleeve through rapid fire jokes. And of course the world, characters, voice acting, music and above all the marine life related puns bring as much colour as the hyper-saturated environments.

All in all Another Crab's Treasure is a really good diamond in the rough as it combines many different game styles into one really well put together game.
The Souls-Like elements are there without all of the things you hate about them. There's no stamina bar. Thank you Jesus! The battles are well spaced out and the saves while further apart than most, are still reasonable in their locations. There is a skill tree, but nothing crazy and there's stackable items to make things easier. Overall the difficulty is there but it's also forgiving and if you really want to turn down the difficulty you can.
The other game mechanic is the platforming. It's pretty good. There's tons of macguffins/collectables to keep you busy. Regarding things that keep you busy this game is pretty big. Almost 100%'ed it and that took over 20 hours. So you will get your money's worth.
As for graphics, things look good for this caliber of game. The hardware requirements aren't through the roof, so it runs really well and there's no stutter anywhere.
Music is good. On occasion you'll find yourself dancing and the closing credits were nice. It feels like the developers put a lot into this game in all respects audio included.
