\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tI thought this was a cozy game, but this is a high tension game where you are either running away from sharks looking for more bullets/oxygen or trying to serve all the customers on time at the sushi restaurant.
Most of the characters are charming even if they are a little annoying or weird (except Suwam, you started the game a douche, and you ended the game less of a douche, but still a douche)
All the cutscenes were stylish and well animated, I never skipped any of Bancho's cutscenes, and they did a great job of capturing serene and mystical atmosphere of the ocean.
The gameplay loop was extremely addicting, but I got tired of it around 30 hour mark.
The second half of the game also introduces bunch of one-time mini-games, I didn't mind how gimmicky they were but more so that they are required to do if you want to advance the main story.

There are definitely more positives than negatives with this game but the negatives are GLARING. This is a game that tries to get you to do so many different things that you don't get to do the things you actually want to do.
I thought this was the type of game where you could choose your play style and as someone that loves gathering materials and exploring, most of this game is right up my alley but there are boss battles that completely block your ability to progress unless you complete them. I'm not a fan of the fights in general but some of them, like the continuous random fights with an obnoxious environmentalist stereotype, are so tedious and completely disregard the equipment you've collected so far so you are forced to beat the boss in the exact way the game wants you to. Sorry I don't want to spend 30 minutes swimming around a guy in a circle only to die six times because I ran out of air.
Like sure, it is a skill issue, but I bought this game because I though I could avoid doing hard fights. That is just not enjoyable for me. If I have to fight, I'd rather grind for gear or weapons to ensure my win rather than than getting stuck in boss battle I have to complete to make any progress without the option to level up first. I only have access to a laptop and the controls are already pretty awkward but when the game puts you in a position where you have to complete very specific maneuvers to make any progress it becomes obvious that this game was not made for a laptop. If thats true, don't give me the option to get it??? I really feel like these fights should be optional for better rewards or at least gave you the option to escape and return to them later or something. Besides the boss battles I really do enjoy this game but I simply cannot make progress anymore.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

My only beef is the quicktime events, which can be moderately annoying until you learn them, and also the bosses. The bosses are a major design failure for the same reason as the QTEs - you are thrown into them with no explanation of the mechanics or chance to prepare. I hate trial-and-error, unless it's Dark Souls style where the whole game is that way. This game's bosses are a mess of mechanics. But everything else is incredible.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

Obviously, the core of the game is diving and fishing, hence the name lol. At first, it can feel a little overwhelming, since the game throws new mechanics and activities at you almost every day. However, once you get used to the pace, it becomes more enjoyable and easygoing.
I like that what initially looks like a chill game about diving and catching sea creatures gradually evolves into an adventure with bosses, resource management, Pokémon-like collecting, rhythm and tamagotchi minigames and much more. The soundtrack is amazing too, that combined with the epic animations for very simple tasks like upgrading a recipe is hilarious, I love it.
The game really has something for every kind of player. The game does not give you any chance to try things, any "puzzle" is explained awkwardly by the character talking to himself ("I should move the light from a to b!"), most dialogue is cringeworthy and the only likable character is Bancho, everyone is a stereotype.

My main complaint is the game feeling the need to hand hold frequently, and stopping me from actually playing the game to hit spacebar repeatedly every other time I finish fishing to tell me about some event or new feature, it really gets old. I know this is a difficult thing to avoid in games but there are better ways of doing it, drip feeding new mechanics and mini games is easier on most people but it really has to be balanced with just letting the player play the game and leaving them alone. It's like Navi from OOT. I guess it's a good sign of the gameplay loop that I'm still playing it and I'm not gonna quit playing the game but it's souring and I may be done soon.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tFun for the first 10-20 hours or so. Once you feel it's getting tedious, it's time to quit, I pushed through and it does NOT get better after that. But it's very fun during early to mid game, worth buying for that.
Pros:
- Beautiful underwater environment
- Lots of fish to collect, pretty collection app that shows all the fishes as cards
- Very fun early to mid game

- Even in endgame you are just as slow as when you started which makes collecting stuff very annoying to do, and it makes boss fights feel unfair, like I know when boss will attack but can't dodge because I'm slow as a snail. So boss fight is just bring the biggest gun and shoot with no strategy involved.
- Dumb minigames everywhere, lots of button smashing. It's cute the first few times but gets old quickly. I'd much prefer these QTE and button smashing doesn't exist
- Hard to turn fish into money unless you timeskip. Ex. I have 200 sawsharks at max lvl but it's not worth it to serve it because you can only serve a limited number of customers per night, and it's better to serve high price dishes. So I have tons of fish but still don't have enough money to upgrade everything easily. I only make about 12k - 15k per night. And by the time I got a branch open I already beat the game so what's the point.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

There are so many different mechanics and every time I think "okay that's it, I've unlocked it all", it hits me with yet another arc, another minigame, another map extention. Then you gotta talk about the graphics. The style is beautiful, the animations are excellent. Any scene of Dave diving would make for a perfect "aesthetic idler/screen saver". I can only imagine how much work and vision must have gone into making such a unique, complete and infinitely replayable videogame.

It's clearly crafted with care, and they'll add throw-away new mechanics that pop up once or twice just for the fun of something new and fresh being added in. The characters are all so charming and entertaining, especially the central characters, and it's a delight to see them evolve and grow to trust and help one another with time.
From reading other reviews, a lots of the bits people find game breaking (bosses, catching certain fish, and so forth) become very doable, of not a total cake walk, so long as you have the right gun or upgrade, and I never found I particularly had to grind for anything outside of one or two dives with a set goal in mind.
I think that this game really shines if you assume the game designers have not only put thought and care into it, but if you trust them to have built a game that's meant to be fun. Trust them to have workarounds or clever tricks or cool gear built into the game, them go find it, and it'll be simple with just enough demand to keep you focused. I can't aim for ♥♥♥♥ and I have no patience whatsoever, and even I found I beat most bosses first time or with a couple restarts.
