The game feels completely infested with wallhackers, cheaters, exploiters, dupers, and players who abuse every possible advantage they can find. It is becoming harder and harder for legitimate players to enjoy the game when they constantly have to wonder whether the person who killed them was actually better or simply using cheats.
The developers need to take a much stronger and more aggressive stance against cheating. We desperately need a reliable and powerful anti-cheat system, better detection, faster investigations, and much harsher punishments for confirmed cheaters and exploiters. Temporary bans are not enough if the same players can simply return and continue ruining matches. Cheaters should face serious consequences, including permanent bans when they are caught.
Cheating doesn't just affect the person who gets killed. It affects the entire player base. Every legitimate player who gets repeatedly killed by a wallhacker or exploited out of their loot eventually becomes frustrated and may stop playing altogether. Once players lose trust in the fairness of the game, it is extremely difficult to get them back.
On top of that, ARC Raiders desperately needs a proper dedicated PvE mode with NO PvP interruptions. Give us a friendly PvE-only lobby where players can focus on fighting ARC machines, exploring the maps, completing objectives, collecting resources, farming loot, testing weapons, and enjoying the world without constantly worrying about another player hiding somewhere waiting to shoot them in the back.
A dedicated PvE mode would not have to replace PvP. Keep the existing PvP extraction experience for players who enjoy that style of gameplay, but give PvE-focused players a legitimate alternative. There are many players who genuinely enjoy the PvE side of ARC Raiders—the robots, Queens, exploration, looting, missions, builds, and progression—but don't enjoy being forced into PvP encounters every time they enter a match.
Right now, PvP can feel extremely frustrating, especially when you combine aggressive players, rats, exploits, and suspected cheaters. A PvE-only mode would give players another reason to keep playing and could help retain people who are currently getting burned out by the PvP environment.
ARC Raiders has a fantastic foundation. The atmosphere, world design, ARC machines, gunplay, movement, looting, and extraction gameplay all have huge potential. But the developers need to protect that potential before the problems become even bigger.
Please listen to the community. Improve the anti-cheat system, take cheating and exploiting much more seriously, punish repeat offenders permanently, and seriously consider introducing a dedicated PvE mode with no PvP interference.

The ARC were unknown, clever, and dangerous. They presented problems that required some thought before approaching them, and part of the fun was learning how they operated. PvP wasn't initially the sole focus either. A lot of people seemed genuinely excited to explore the world and help each other survive, which created some really memorable encounters. The players who did decide to go looking for fights were often outnumbered and dealt with accordingly.
For a while, the game felt like an actual adventure.
Then we learned everything.
Once you understood how each ARC worked, they stopped being particularly threatening. Most of them became predictable, especially one-on-one. The ARC went from being something you had to think about to being another obstacle you knew exactly how to deal with.
With the ARC becoming a minor threat, the game gradually turned into a massive grind for loot.
And the loot itself became incredibly stale. Eventually, most matches stopped being about exploring or scavenging and became a rush to specific locations to get whatever targeted materials you needed for your next Project or upgrade as quickly as possible.
Then came the blueprint system, which completely destroyed what I thought was one of the core ideas behind the game.
Scavenging and looting should be the reason you enter a match. Instead, blueprints turned the game into a speed-running exercise where everyone races to specific containers hoping for a particular item. These are some of the worst people online gaming has to offer: act friendly until you see an opportunity to stab someone in the back, but only when you're certain there's no risk. Then suddenly you're friendly again when you need to escape with the gear you were too lazy to acquire yourself.
The problem isn't that PvP exists. PvP was always part of the game.
The problem is that the game has gradually lost the sense of wonder and cooperation that made those interactions interesting in the first place. Gone are the days when you could encounter an entire lobby that would team up and run around killing ARC together just because it was fun.
Now it feels like most people have simply been playing for too long, and the game has devolved into optimization.
And unfortunately, the ARC themselves haven't really evolved in a way that improves this.
Instead of introducing machines that are interesting to fight and reward you for understanding their behavior, new ARC often feel like increasingly annoying, heavily armored versions of the things we already know how to kill.
Comets are basically a larger, more annoying version of a Pop. They don't add much to the game beyond creating another problem that you often can't realistically deal with unless you're properly geared for it. Heavy armor, ridiculous speed, and an enormous AoE explosion make them miserable to fight if you're not prepared.
And if you're caught in the open?
Good luck.
The "strategy" often boils down to baiting them toward you, hiding behind a wall, and waiting for them to explode. That's not an interesting encounter. That's cheesing an enemy because the alternative is simply eating unavoidable damage.
Fireflies are another example.
They're more heavily armored, more aggressive, and constantly dealing damage while flying alongside Hornets and Wasps. Their flames obscure your vision, they don't offer particularly satisfying weak points, and even their exposed fuel tank takes multiple shots to destroy. The propellers are technically a target, but they're even harder to hit than the weak points on the Hornets and Wasps.
It's difficulty for the sake of annoyance.
The Vaporizer, on the other hand, is one of the better examples of how new ARC should be designed.
It's incredibly powerful, but actually fun to fight. Its shield creates an opportunity because it can't attack you while it's active. You can reposition, find better cover, bait out an opening, and then punish the weak point. It's dangerous without simply being a massive bullet sponge.
That's the difference.
The problem isn't that ARC are difficult.
The problem is when difficulty comes from armor, damage, speed, and inflated health rather than interesting mechanics.
And the recent events have only amplified the worst parts of the game.
Massive grind-fests filled with huge numbers of some of the most annoying ARC, encouraging players to smoke out areas just to loot under cover while other players take advantage of the chaos to shoot them in the back and steal the loot.
Then you have the "boss" ARC that can be trivialized by Deadmine junkies while being absurdly resistant to almost everything else.
At some point, it stops feeling like the developers are designing encounters and starts feeling like they're just increasing the numbers until something becomes difficult.
And then there's the live-service desperation.
This is probably the most frustrating part for me now.
After losing the overwhelming majority of its player base, the game is constantly shoving itself back into your face.
Forced update screens. Forced event screens. Constant notifications about Trials — a part of the game that I couldn't care less about — being pushed in front of you over and over.
And then there's the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ store.
The constant store pop-ups don't feel like a game confidently presenting something I might want to buy. They feel like the developers are begging me to spend money.
And that's what makes this so disappointing.
Arc Raiders had an incredible foundation. The world was interesting. The atmosphere was great. The ARC were fascinating when they were still unknown. The player interactions could be genuinely memorable.
But instead of building on those strengths, the game has gradually become a grind-heavy loot treadmill wrapped in increasingly aggressive live-service systems.
It's the second live-service game I've seen from this development group that had an incredible foundation and enormous potential, only to be handled in a way that burned through its audience.
It's sad watching something with this much potential get reduced to grind, optimization, engagement systems, and increasingly desperate monetization.
I've uninstalled Arc Raiders, and at this point, I don't think there's anything they can realistically add that would bring me back.

One of the best games i have ever played.
- The absurd amount of cheating in anything but the safest of lobbies is astounding.
- There is a lack of end-game progression. You max out workbenches and that's kinda it.
- If the october update does not rectify these issues, the game will most likely keep bleeding players until it either just fades into obscurity or is shut down.
Please Embark, I am begging you.
Fix this game because there is nothing else like it.

Reason 1: This game is like loading into an old Call of Duty game, every single match is loaded with cheaters. This is really my main issue I just had enough today. Got off work played 4 matches and every single one just had cheaters in it and no this is not just a "only happened today" event, its been like this for months now. I feel like its worse than Tarkov which is crazy to say.
Reason 2: I would agree a PVE mode would be nice it would be a lot better then players cheesing this lame aggression system. This is coming from a PVP player, I don't see the harm a PVE mode would cause, the game is dying anyways. Sometimes it would be nice to run around and chill with some friends destroying Arc and doing the quests without having to do extra steps in some aggression system. Reason 3: Ties into when I mentioned Quests. These quests have to be the most boring uninspired tasks and story I have ever seen. Its going on a year now and we don't even know anything about this world yet and what happened. All we get is "Arc doing weird things, go get this.." Really would've loved to see some sort of compassion for this game/world that was made, informative story, cut scenes, something. Nope dryer than a bone.

\n\n\t\t\t\tReason 1: This game is like loading into an old Call of Duty game, every single match is loaded with cheaters. This is really my main issue I just had enough today. Got off work played 4 matches and every single one just had cheaters in it and no this is not just a "only happened today" event, its been like this for months now. I feel like its worse than Tarkov which is crazy to say.
Reason 2: I would agree a PVE mode would be nice it would be a lot better then players cheesing this lame aggression system. This is coming from a PVP player, I don't see the harm a PVE mode would cause, the game is dying anyways. Sometimes it would be nice to run around and chill with some friends destroying Arc and doing the quests without having to do extra steps in some aggression system. Reason 3: Ties into when I mentioned Quests. These quests have to be the most boring uninspired tasks and story I have ever seen. Its going on a year now and we don't even know anything about this world yet and what happened. All we get is "Arc doing weird things, go get this.." Really would've loved to see some sort of compassion for this game/world that was made, informative story, cut scenes, something. Nope dryer than a bone.

I've played the game over 300 hours since it launched. It's a good game. Other people suck, though. And sometimes they will make it NOT a good game, and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it. You can spend 25 minutes fighting a difficult mission and finally succeed and then during exfil some child sitting with their 3rd person cam scoping you out while you cannot see them just pops out and takes you out in an instant while looking the other way. Cool?
It's a shame the devs ditched the initial purely PvE design for the game and went full PvP. There are so many ways around forcing the PvP to always be present. PvP maps. PvP zones. Consensual PvP. Why not just let people chose pvp or pve? Why the forced mixed lobbies? I assume they're worried not enough people will play PvP mode and the PvPers will leave the game? I further assume it came down to a money decision. PvP must sell better.
The core game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ great. The AI enemies are good. Fun to fight, extremely difficult at times. The PvP is just not necessary. The Gameplay, fighting, the theme, art, weapons, items, etc. -> All good. It really just hinges on whether you love PvP or not, because the PvE aspect is completely unpredictable, so you never know.
If you are trying to figure out if you (a PvE preference player) should try this game? Unfortunately, I have to say you're better off with Helldivers. Skip this if you want a PvPvE experience that limits or puts boundaries on the PvP. Be warned, this game does force you into PvP, it is not optional.

Since January, I have been contacting support and posting on Discord to report serious issues, especially item duplication and streamers openly involved in RMT (real-money trading). Months have passed, and despite repeatedly bringing these issues to the developers' attention, almost nothing seems to have changed.
No streamer I have reported appears to have been banned, and despite claims that the item duplication problem has been fixed, it clearly hasn't. Duplicated items are still an issue, and it is incredibly frustrating to watch the same problems persist month after month while players who actually care about the game keep reporting them.
There is also a worrying amount of discussion surrounding hackers and banned accounts. Personally, I have never encountered a hacker in-game, so I won't pretend otherwise. However, seeing people openly advertising that they are looking to buy new accounts because their previous accounts were banned certainly raises questions about how widespread cheating actually is.
The biggest problem, however, is the complete lack of communication and willingness to listen.
The developers don't seem to read feedback. Problems are reported repeatedly, players provide evidence, and yet nothing meaningful happens. Instead of addressing the issues, feedback seems to be ignored.
And today, after yet another post asking for the item duplication issue to be addressed and asking for a general wipe for all the accounts, I was banned from the game's Discord server.
That pretty much sums up my experience with the developers.
I genuinely love this game. That's what makes this so frustrating. There is a great game underneath all of this, but month after month it feels like the people responsible for maintaining it are doing less and less to protect it.
I don't expect perfection. Bugs happen. Cheaters happen. Exploits happen.
What I expect is for the developers to actually listen to their community, investigate the problems being reported, communicate honestly, and take action when necessary.
Right now, I don't feel like they're doing any of those things.

First victim was "The Finals" and now this game. During initial days it was something of lightning in a bottle. Now, its a infestation of serial killers shooting everyone on sight. It is a PvPvE, where E part requires a lot of grind to acquire equipment to fight. On the part, PvP requires just camping near exit tunnels. The game also lack a lot content and match making is completely off the rails. The developers really need to throw their "Social expirement" sentiments with this game and start treating it like a product. A product whose customers are not satisfied with it.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tI am so sick of this game. I have played 125 hours but Embark has COMPLETELY RUINED THE GAME. Don't bother buying it honestly.
They could have just made PVP and PVE modes to separate the different playstyles but they know the toxic PVP clowns like to shoot people in the back and if there was PVE those rats would not have easy kills so they refuse to make a PVE mode and its literally killing the game. Go ask most people who stopped playing and they will tell you the same two things, they quit because of the lack of PVE and they quit because of the hackers. The developer's greed is driving the loyal PVE fans base away in droves and that is who was propping up the game. I want to like and recommend this game but when people ask if they should play I tell them not to bother because it is so broken and the fix is incredibly simple.
Here is the good and bad:
THE GOOD:
playing PVE on friendly servers is so much fun, you explore with people and help each other out
the world and gameplay are super cool
the crafting and weapon system is satisfying and unique
leveling up feels gradual and straightforward
THE BAD:
- The rats, there are so many toxic bozos on the game that only come on here to pretend to be friendly and then they shoot you in the back
- There is a free loadout so the cheaters and rats come in and kill a bunch of people and steal their stuff AND THERE IS NO REPURCUSSION AT ALL. it doesn't make sense and it's the dumbest idea ever. whoever designed this gameplay style clearly doesn't play games
- the rounds are thirty minutes but they will sometimes load you into a map that has 16 or 17 minutes left so everything is already looted and on boss events (like matriarch and harvester) if you come in at 16-17 minutes left in the round the boss is already dead and looted but you can't just drop and find a new server because you will lose all your loot so you have to RUN ACROSS THE ENTIRE MAP to exit. its a waste of time and disrespectful. why would i want to load into an even that is already over? Do the devs have brains?
- There are a ton of weird glitches, I keep getting stuck on invisible walls that appear and disappear at random
- If you are a PVE player and get attacked or see someone get attacked and you defend them or yourself you get punished by getting pushed into PVP servers. I was playing a match and a guy tried to attack another person as the extraction so I downed the attacker and defibed the victim (I didn't even kill the guy he still extracted and kept his loot) and I was punished for it. Now I am getting put in PVP servers and getting killed by toxic players every single round, losing all my loot and making the game unplayable. YOU ARE PUNISHED FOR DEFENDING YOURSELF AND PROTECTING OTHER PLAYERS this is the worst mechanic I have ever seen in my life.
- You get coins for doing challenges that you can use to buy new outfits EXCEPT the coolest ones are typically locked behind paywalls or you have to grind and grind and grind the trials to get them. It just shows that they want you to waste real money to buy cosmetics ON A GAME THAT YOU ALREADY PAID FOR. this is some scam stuff, at least on The Finals it was a free game so I didn't feel as bad about buying cosmetics but I paid for this game and I STILL have to pay for cosmetics. That's such a scam.
- there is a thriving blackmarket of hackers that glitch duplicate weapons and sell them and seemingly embark is doing nothing to fix it
- Wall hacks, aimbots, seeing through walls, player trackers... there are people out here cheating in every way possible THANK GOD THEY MADE ME INSTALL A KERNEL LEVEL ANTI-CHEAT RIGHT??? such an invasive anti-cheat and it doesn't even stop the cheaters.
- They paid that burnt peanut guy or whatever the f his name is to play the game to try and rekindle the playerbase but that guy says racist stuff and is one of the most annoying people I have ever seen. It just shows what the devs value and who they will work with to get players back to a game they refuse to fix.
Overall this could be one of the best games ever but the devs have completely destroyed it with incompetence. After I got murdered multiple times in a row while trying to scavenge I'm just done. You could have had me as a long term player (and someone who buys cosmetics, you should see how much I have spent on fortnite and other games) but the devs cater to the toxic clown PVP players so who cares.
In my opinion, don't buy this game unless you are a toxic clown who likes shooting people in the back OR if they fix it (which at this point I doubt will ever happen).

\n\n\t\t\t\tThey could have just made PVP and PVE modes to separate the different playstyles but they know the toxic PVP clowns like to shoot people in the back and if there was PVE those rats would not have easy kills so they refuse to make a PVE mode and its literally killing the game. Go ask most people who stopped playing and they will tell you the same two things, they quit because of the lack of PVE and they quit because of the hackers. The developer's greed is driving the loyal PVE fans base away in droves and that is who was propping up the game. I want to like and recommend this game but when people ask if they should play I tell them not to bother because it is so broken and the fix is incredibly simple.
Here is the good and bad:
THE GOOD:
playing PVE on friendly servers is so much fun, you explore with people and help each other out
the world and gameplay are super cool
the crafting and weapon system is satisfying and unique
leveling up feels gradual and straightforward
THE BAD:
- The rats, there are so many toxic bozos on the game that only come on here to pretend to be friendly and then they shoot you in the back

Would i recommend it?
sure.... the first 6 months of release.

Cheaters and Dupe exploiters have this game on lock.
and they are a massive plague on the game.

PvE is not for wimps btw, I'm a Tarkov OG and I purchased Unheard at the original price when it first released, and BSG actually did a dedicated PvE mode without needing the player's request. Hell, even The Division 2 has added a PvE Dark Zone with special mechanics to compensate for a less stressful gameplay.
