A perfect game to just put your feet up, listen to a banger soundtrack, and watch your character delete 100.000 enemies from existence.
Onto the negatives:
- Ugly Main Menu, some options just look off and look stretched.
- Transparent Black bars on the sides for no reason, it's not even for rendering reasons, since you can see everything being properly rendered. Your only option is to make it solid black...Just gives us an option to remove it please.

I had a lot of fun evolving certain items together and growing stronger while trying to unlock every achievement, without needing a guide. 10/10, would recommend to anyone.

Game became completely unresponsive, unable to confirm a selection or even move the cursor to select an item with a controller, keyboard controls did nothing, clicking on the UI did nothing. I had to alt+F4 the game, which erased any progress I made during the run so, no unlocks or rewards for my time. We figured this was a fluke of some kind, so we decided to try another run. We got 27 minutes into the second run until the same exact glitch happened soft-locking the game once again, forcing me to alt+F4 again, erasing any progress again.
Nearly two hours wasted entirely with nothing to show for it, massively disappointing for the game to be this unstable, after how well it's been talked about.

Tons of weapons, characters, stages, mechanics that you have to unlock in either very obscure or convoluted ways (read: in a endearing way!), while at first glance it doesn't look like a very feature-rich game.
It's not for everyone though: it can be repetitive to some, but personally I liked it even if it wasn't my type of game back when I first played it. It even has co-op, with an option to share the unlocks you get in a run with your buddy/ies! The basic premise is rooted in a fusion of bullet hell and looter shooter style games. You pick a character from an embarrassingly vast roster, each of whom comes with a starting weapon, and then run around an arena fighting a huge array of monsters until you either get overwhelmed by sheer numbers and die, or the stage timer elapses, at which point you get ganked by a Grim Reaper and die. There are no vampires or surviving involved in this game.
The fun comes in making your attack numbers go up (and up and up). Defeating enemies nets you experience that is gathered at blistering pace and, occasionally, new items or weapons to add to your loadout. Levelling up also lets you upgrade your weaponry, with a view to eventually evolve them into more powerful forms - the first time you discover this is the first of several times the game blossoms into its next stage for you, and it only gets wilder from there. It's almost impossible to find any game that has this much content and replayability for a price like that. And for anyone with a Steam Deck or any similar "Handheld PC system", this game is absolutely perfect for it.

I've owned this game for over 4.5 years. When I first started playing it I thought it was very enjoyable though was lacking enough content to keep me coming back over and over. It also didn't really "click" with me at the time, and I believe that it's because roguelikes weren't my primary source of gameplay back then.
I then kind of forgot the game existed for about 4 years. I don't really know what caused me to remember about this game, but when I went to download it I noticed there were 6 or 7 DLCs that had come out over the years, and they were all so cheap. I ended up buying all of the DLC and proceeded to put probably 200+ hours into the game over the course of the summer.
If somehow you haven't played this game before and you're unsure about whether or not to buy it, but you've played those mobile games like Survivor.io or Archero, well this game is widely regarded as the game that really popularized "survivors-likes". I genuinely believe this game is one of the most enjoyable games to play in its' genre, and the rest of the reviews should come as no surprise.
At the time of writing this review there are currently 225 total characters, 512 unlockable items, 392 different enemies, and 33 different stages across all of the DLC. Which also at the time of writing this review you can purchase the game and every one of the DLC for 12.72 USD. I don't know a better way to convey the astounding cost versus value ration this provides. Even when the game and its DLC isn't on sale the total cost is 20.92 USD (17.93 USD if you exclude the OST). In a time where AAA games are launching at 70+ USD in a horribly broken state with less replayability it's easy to question whether or not the price is too good to be true. I can assure you, it's not.
I've put in 328 hours into this game at the time of this review. And I've needed nearly all of those hours to unlock every item, character, map, and achievement. Which I should point out is something I almost never care about in any game I play. This one is very different though. The games are typically no more than 30 minutes max when you first start, with that time almost always going lower as you progress. When you first start out you will be killed at the 30 minute mark. After a lot of progression can you survive past that point, and eventually even unlock "endless" mode so you can stay as long as you want. On the flip side, you can also unlock the ability to speed up the gameplay, including the in game timer, by 2x-3x. Meaning that staying in a playthrough for 30 minutes can be cut down to just 10 minutes of your time. And most unlocks don't even require the full 30 minutes, just 15 minutes, and after that you could just quit the match if you wanted and still get everything unlocked. My 328 hours was not me being "efficient" with unlocking everything, it was me just genuinely enjoying the game and trying new builds.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t
