\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tokay first of all how do people complete this game in less than 12 hours??? anyway, this may be my favorite narrative game ever. it really is about everything but manages to arrange the complex themes together in a way that gives just enough at a time and weaves itself together in a beautiful culmination at the end. this made me cry several times. i had my gripes with certain aspects of the gameplay but any criticism pales and dissipates in the light of how much i loved this story and the characters and their conflicts. my sisters, my beloved sisters. my parents. my children. no story has reached the center of my heart with such a closeness like this one has. hekki grace. i would write more but i think i am still processing. \t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

The gameplay is minimal, you are quite literally becoming a watcher. The game is mainly concerned with generational trauma, cycles of abuse, question of identity and criticism of authoritarian goverments. The first part of the game feels quite more polished than the second part, but I think it's more interesting to see how the story continues after the Allmother's death.
I have to agree with other reviews that the hub design is... well... Actually, I though the design itself is really interesting, reminded me of Changi Airport a lot and I suspect that was the inspiration behind it. However, navigating it really is quite annoying and it's so easy to get lost. Especially in the second part of the game, when your map is taken away and some paths are closed! While I believe that to some extent this was on purpose, it becomes bothersome after some time and that's my main complaint about the game.

I think the game strikes a perfect balance between saying too much and too little, which I felt was a flaw with Signalis. It leaves just the right amount of space for interpretation to really get you thinking.

Be prepared for a gripping, fascinating, heartwarming, heartbreaking, mind-boggling experience. I can already tell that I'm going to be thinking about this one for many years to come. A commendable effort for a studio debut. It's clumsy and confusing, but there are some great segments that really highlight the studio's origins in theater and the arts. I recommend powering through the first few chapters, as the game opens quite uncharitably: flatly acted, angsty teenagers in really uglily-lit corridors. Oh god, it's not just the anime artstyle, the first chapter takes place in a high school... But it gets better, it's not just generic anime trash. I remember getting more into the story in Chapter 3 or so.
Took me 9 hours to beat. I don't think it's a resounding success, the game tries to do too much and it could've been cut to maybe half, but I'm feeling more positive than negative. If you're looking for interesting story telling in a video game, give this one a shot.

At first I didn't understood anything but was invested, then I understood something and was even more invested, then I again didn't undestood anything, then I finished the game and kinda understand everything and think this is a masterpiece. The game is made so you want to replay it again to piece everything together after you learn the whole story.
I can't help but recommend it to anyone who loves narrative walking games, especially when it's sci-fi with elements of psychological thriller, non-linear storytelling and a lot of subtext. For me, the game has vibes of Life is Strange and Evangelion with a little bit of Death Stranding, Nier Automata and Get Even (if anyone even knows this game).

I really liked the visual style and visual narrative a lot. Devs have done a good job playing with colors, lightning, and camera perspectives to immerse the player during certain parts of the game. The graphics itself are good overall, but nothing out of the ordinary.
The only thing that upsets me about the graphic is that there is no mouth animation during dialogs at all, as well as too little face animations (only in some cutscenes). This mainly upsets me cuz a lot of scenes would be MUCH cooler/immersive/goosebumps-inducing if there were proper face animations. But I guess this is due to the low budget.

The gameplay is very basic — after all, it's just a narrative run/walk simulator. But there are a few core mechanics that dilute "boredom": jumping back and forth through memories in time and ¿teleporting? using special ¿waypoints? (i dunno how to name it properly). The first one is cool for narrative and used to solve some puzzles. The second one is meh... It's good for exploring very big and weird locations but sometimes annoy cuz it's easy to get lost there.
And one more thing: sometimes you may miss a few interactions with items or characters just because the game don't always mark the interaction that triggers the progress to the next part. I learned to save each time when there is a possible branching in where to go, so I could reload if I trigger the progress before I interacted with everything in the location. Sometimes this frustrates a bit since you waste your time.

I don't have the words to describe it accurately so I just share my impression. During the first hour of the game I didn't understand a single thing: there was just too much going on without any explanation at all. During the following 6 or 7 hours I started to understand the story and the world a bit (as I thought at the moment) and was really invested. Then a plot twist comes and I do not understand anything at all again for the next 4 hours. And only at the end I started to put everything in pieces together and finally understand the whole plot and worldbuilding.
There are at least 5 different plotlines relating to the specific characters or factions. These plotlines are very interesting and rich with subtext, but they aren't told linearly or simultaneously at all, so you have to put it together on your own. I think the devs expected you to start understand everything and confirm your theories only at the end and I think that good, since a lot of modern shows and games treat the player as a fool that can't think on their own. It was nice to feel joy when my theories were confirmed, as well as to feel surprised when they were crushed by plot twists.
I'd also like to mention the characters. I loved them all. Every character feels unique and has their own quirky personality. Their worldview and attitude are mostly justified, understandable and well-written, so I couldn't stick to hate or love someone specific. They feel realy alive, each with their own drawbacks and advantages. They all make you want to spend some time to know them better. They all make you empathize them.

- sometimes your character may remain in walking animation during the dialog
- sometimes the camera or the character may twitch when running on the staircase
But overall there is nothing that breaks the game and/or prevents the progress.
