\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tThis review is for the early access. My main focus coming in was the campaign so this is what I will review. Right now, there are about a dozen of missions available making act 1 of 3. This took me about 5 hours to play on normal difficulty. The game is clearly early access and they tell you that things are missing like many dialogs and mission briefings. But if you ignore the missing stuffs that will be added in later, the game has a strong core that is fun to play. Missions are varied and have interesting objectives. You have a good amount of personalization through unit upgrades and hero selection. The gameplay is smooth and works well. I had very minor bugs like one single group of 5 enemies that did not fight back when I attacked them. In summary, if the campaign is your focus, you should wait for the missing dialogs and all the missions to be available, but what is currently here is good and very promising. \n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tZerospace leaves a lot to be desired. Does it have some upside. Yes. In the meantime I dont want to be a play tester for the next year unitl "release". While the devs do a good job with updates and commication the amount of issues that the game has is just to much for me. Pathing, op units/factions, lag spikes, unfinished campaign, unit readability, command delays, glitches, etc.
Lastly, if you want to learn the game in pvp, good luck. You'll be playing the same people over and over who just play 5 hours a day.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tZeroSpace is still in fairly early development so don't expect a complete experience right now(e.g. campaign has 13 playable missions with roughly 45 planned(including side quests) for the full release, 1 faction and many commanders aren't included in the co-op mode yet etc.
That being said it is still fairly enjoyable to play currently and has some cool game modes that aren't typically included in RTS games such as a co-op and survival modes in addition to what you'd expect in your standard RTS(campaign, skirmishes, pvp etc.)
I primarily purchased the game in early access to support the development of the game which i typically wouldn't do, but I think Zero Space has a lot of potential and so took the risk despite it's early access release in the hopes of the singleplayer and co-op modes being made the best they can be.
The co-op mode is of particuar interest as i think blizzard really dropped the ball in supporting it's own co-op mode in starcraft 2 despite it's popularity and ZeroSpace seems to be the only game i've seen even attempting to follow up on the success of this type of gameplay and could be the true sucessor to Starcrafts 2s mode if it is adequately supported and polished.
There are a lot of doomers and trolls who bash this game at every opportunity which i'd advise ignoring as many seem to have a fanatical determination to see this game fail for whatever reason and pushed me to leave a positive review to counteract a lot of this overly negative and pessimistic sentiment.
I personally put no value in the arguments that the game is "dead" because of it's current playercount despite the game recieving no advertising, not being completed, and there are probably many players such as myself waiting for the full release to invest more time into the game. I think those incessently spouting this argument are at best misguided, and at worst, completely disingenious.
If the deveopers don't deliver on their plans, don't make the game accessible offline(which they've advised their working on) and make the same mistakes as the devs of other RTS projects in recent years(e.g Stormgate) then it's possible the game will die, but i think it's to early to tell and the developers need be given a chance before writing off the game as a failure.
That being said, it may not necessarily be worth the €40 price tag at this point for the gameplay alone at this point in development for many. If like me, you like how the game looks and would like to support the development, it could be worth making the purchase all the same, otherwise it may be best to wait until the full release and see how the game has shaped up between now and then before making a decision.

There are still some minor bugs (sometimes cant interact with characters) and the way the vehicles are directed is almost undoable, you just have to put so many in and then... hope for the best.
But all in all, this is one of those little gems that you shouldnt mis if you like a good story campaign with okay RTS. \n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tOkay starters ik 2.5 hours is absolutely nothing, but across AOE, SC, WC, Deserts of Kharak I have hundreds, and I've been looking for the game that carries the torch for the sci-fi genre, AOE 4 exists and with the proper tunes and enough Ram its the best RTS that comes to mind these days. That being said with Dawn of War IV coming soon I hope ZeroSpace devs bring their "A" game for the 1.0 release...
That being aside this review is positive because so far this game is killing it for me. Streamlined user friendly combat is essential and it delivers. Any SC1/2 player would pick this game up and likely love it (minus the obvious nostalgia withdrawal) your going to really like this game. AOE fans might not, resource gathering is not the focus here, and honestly it works, but I could understand the possible turn away, but at that point just play AOE 4...

Of course with anything there are flaws, like menu bugs and some connection issues that dont give you any info as to what failed or why... Other than some stuff that will be fixed in time its shaping up to be an awesome game series. Creating some crazy armies for coop, with some higher difficulties, and seasonal map rotations would be helpful for retaining players past the already cool campaign and survival mode. Regardless I cant wait to see this game in a few seasons and see what awaits us in ZeroSpace.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

I also love the rpg-like elements where you upgrade your units just like in SC2 while this also includes your hero units. I recommend this game. Have the ranked 1v1 or 2v2 option with also AI and Co-OP. Also, the galaxy war is really cool. Haven't touched campaign yet, but galaxy war alone is worth the price could play for 50 hours.

I like WASD controls for my RTS games that require you to also use a mouse and other keys around WASD. I tried to rebind these keys, and it was a disaster. There are WELL OVER 100 different bindable actions, all of which are bound by default, down to a specific unit action. For example, my W key was bound to a build option for like 8+ different buildings. That means I have to scroll through EVERY SINGLE HOTKEY and unbind everything from WASD just to get WASD to work. That was already the worst RTS experience I've had in years. There is a button to let you see conflicting keybinds, but it doesn't even show them all so you're still forced to scroll through the list.

In streams and tournaments it's the same boring thing to watch mass commando or lasher.
Mass turtle building spam to block projectiles is also uncredibly lame and boring to watch as a viewer. People use 1 or 2 comps of tier 1 units. One very important note, don't let yourself think that this is a mostly pvp/competite title as it's sometimes presented. They have a big focus on single player too, which is the only thing that i'm interested in. The act 1 of the campaing is already available with 11 missions can already occupy you for a solid 6-8 hours depending on playstyle. The full campaign should be in the 20+ hours
territory with a total of 42 missions
The good :
- The campaign presents a new engaging universe with tones of lore to dive into. Some cutscenes are missing or rough, but they are engaging. I love the mass effect like branching dialogs and choices to make. As a big RPG player, it's a dream come true to see this kind a of stuff in another of my favorite genre of game.
- As for the story, you don't feel like you know how the game will end by the end of act 1, which is desperatingly common these days. Lots of mystery yet to uncover
- Love having companions around the ship.
- The Meta progression systems, while work in progress, show a lot of promise :)
- Voice acting is solid
- While being deep, the game feels very easy to take in hand, but i am a RTS veteran
- Performance is great on my 6 year old rig (Laptop XMG NEO, i7 10875h, RTX 2070 SUPER (mobile), 16g RAM, SSD. No dips under 60 fps at high details, even in large battle, and the last patch (20/08) was focused on performance
The less good :
- The UI is both ugly and difficult to read in my opinion. The weapon type/armor aren't and the extent of bonus damage associated altough
- In some environnement, especially early missions with Grells, the readability of the action is not always great. Foliage get in the way a tad too much I think
- Some bugs here and there of course, like Mera being twice present on the field if you have her as your field officer in one the Arcadia missions
- Some sounds are missing or need better mixing, making some units pretty underwhelming
- The mass effect inspiration is sometimes a little to obvious for alien races. But the story is very different.
- Some lore is a bit obscure because of missing cutscenes after the prologue (5 first missions). Like what is Zerospace ?
Price may feel a bit steep, but the game is crazy ambitious and I love that. It's amazing what a relatively small team managed to put out. I felt burned after backing the debacle that was Stormgate. This is healing that wound.
