I figured, we probably have to chill here for 5 minutes and get the next key figurine. So we sat there. He in the chair and I on the couch and we talked about parenthood.

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tI cannot get enough of this game, the puzzles are fun to solve with friends and the game is relaxing but MAN let me tell you, joining random lobbies with the codes on the forums has elevated this experience so far above a cool co op game for me. Every single server I've been is has been a blast, even playing the same puzzle for the 5th time never feels boring because you get to celebrate the win with a new group of people who are enjoying the game for the first time.
I sincerely hope the developers will re-evaluate their position to not have a server browser. I agree that the GAME is best experienced with friends, but the EXPERIENCE of playing the game and seamlessly teaming up with strangers is better executed here than in any other game I've ever played.
I usually put gameplay first and disregard graphics, social integration, realism etc when picking my favorite games. So when i tell you that this is something really special please take that with a second grain of salt, hanging out with random people, sitting on a cliff edge watching another group navigate the foliage, pointing at someone across the way and chucking a flashlight at them, or jumping off a cliff with your group for a speed boost as you all ricochet off trees and rocks down a slope are just small pleasures that make awesome bonding moments with complete strangers.
Absolute 10/10 must play game, experience it with friends, family, strangers, or anyone in-between.

This game is fantastic. I know right now the chat system is getting a lot of flack for being too soft / low, but in our entire time, we really didn't much trouble with it at all. Yes, the game could benefit from having some additional audio sliders, but if going by the reviews so far, you'd think it ruins the game. I did not feel that the audio was bad enough to take away from the experience. In fact, I actually LIKE that you can't get too far away. It made us stick together more.

I've played a few online games with my mom over the years, but this past 2 1/2 hours was the most fun, hands down. The game is simple enough that anyone can play it (like my mom) but enough complexity with the puzzles that people like me (who love puzzle games) enjoy it as well. We hated to stop our session and we can't wait till we pick up where we left off.

Absolutely loved every minute of it, from the lovely ambience to the hundreds of ways to fool around or vibe with your friends. \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tthe game needs at least two different sliders for game audio and voice audio. i understand the vision for the immersion of proximity voice chat, but this is just mandatory to have. also volume level was too low in my experience - i literally cannot hear anybody over 5-10 meters. and the performance is not great. low level graphics are playable, but render distance is like 15 meters for some objects. the game wasn't able to launch on linux without custom launch parameters. aside from these issues, i liked the mechanics and the whole feel of the game. if audio problems will be resolved in the near future, i can recommend the game.

some clarifications about performance:
while i have a graphics card that is almost 10 years old and was even then mid-range - gtx 1050ti - the minimum required gpu is gtx 750ti. while the difference between these two cards is not huge, maybe i expected a bit too much.
game on medium in my case is basically unplayable (at least with 100% render, i haven't tried any other values. i think in this game, where you often need to see things clearly, it's not a good solution to the problem). i get less than 30 fps and the frames are constantly dropping.
so i played on low and very low, and i can play like that. frames are okay (from 60 to 90, but there are also massive drops). however, even in the starting location, my first experience with these presets was the render distance for some objects. a seat in literally 15 meters from me just wasn't visible at all. in normal gameplay some trees, rocks and bushes are appearing from nowhere, requiring me to occasionally reroute.
the drastic difference between medium and anything below is probably because of the lighting and shadows. it would be great if the game had different sliders and more granular settings for graphics: shadows, render distance, maybe even texture resolution.
my cpu is ryzen 5 5600g (integrated graphics are disabled in uefi), so i am not cpu bound (at least i hope so). thinking back, probably this level of performance is expected from my setup.
however, my friends have much more powerful setups, and they also have some performance concerns. for example, one person with 9070xt gpu and 7800x3d cpu (both amd) on windows 11 had frames ranging from 70 to 250 fps on highest settings. while 200+ fps is amazing, these lows with 70 fps are not great.

as a funny solution to this problem, we had a person with a backpack and two radios (walkie-talkie, but i am going to write as radio): one in the backpack and one in the hands. the person talked into the radio, the radio on the backpack repeats his words to us and we can hear them clearly on the distance where we can't hear his words from him directly. i don't think it should work this way.
radio's proximity distance is, what i think, the distance for proximity voice chat should have been. it really is optimal in my experience. and otherwise it doesn't make any sense, because you can circumvent voice chat distance like we did. radio should have the same distance of propagation as a person just talking directly and vice versa.
my review is still positive and i recommend the game, because:
- even with these issues, i still like the game. i haven't elaborated on that much, but the core gameplay is great. i waited for this game's release and, in terms of the gameplay, everything is good so far.

Yet after going on a Big Walk I'm sat reflecting on our very nature as humans how and why we communicate. Overcoming puzzles with friends and creating your own methods to do so is a core part of this game. The Big Walk isn't for everyone, and I imagine people engage the game in very different ways. However, I couldn't recommend it more for friends who find the idea of cooperation through communication enticing. The game so naturally encourages socializing and it creates moments to peek inside the minds of those around you. You see how they think, how they react, and most importantly how you both interact. For as much as you can analyze each puzzle and the unique challenge it brings the beauty of Big Walk comes from it's premise. It's a "Big Walk" with some of your favorite people. It's not flashy, grandiose, or action packed. It's a game that asks you and your friends to take a walk in the forest together. Not friendslop.... friendgem I'm afraid. I don't know how to describe the feeling, but playing this game feels like home. As someone who lives in Australia, walking around the map and listening to the sounds is so heartwarming. My best friend who I was playing with (Who is also Australian) and I were so excited when we walked across the beach to the sound of SQUEAKY SAND!!! It was such a small detail, but something we instantly connected with.
I think all the puzzles are perfect, some that are simple and easy while others took a bit of teamwork. There are some moments in this game that have such a charm to it. My other Australian friend and I were playing with some of our American friends and we were pointing out the native plants to them as we walked along. There is so much care put into this game that makes it feel so uniquely Australian that I think you just can't understand unless you live here.

Big Walk is a game about all the love that you can't put into words for people you've met across the internet. Whether it's the little space you've carved for your best friends, or the time you and an enemy sat side by side in a TDM, House House wants you to remember it all and realise that even when we're hundreds of miles apart, it's in our nature to see someone else across that gap, and wave.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t
