Playing with friends is a chore. You can miss content entirely if your friend decides they wanna do their own thing and you can miss entire cutscenes. My friend whos a strength build and I who is a faith build can accidently hit each other, while i understand if the game is meant to be less hacknslashy and more methodical, but it just seems to fight against you often times Ill accidently hit him, because of a secondary explosion effect that he was unaware of or just a projectile i shot. I shouldnt have to give callouts to my friend while playing this game at all times. Even at the start of the game we have accidently gotten each other killed multiple times. The shops are strange? They reset IRL in a day.... do i really need to say why thats a bad thing? i dont understand why this game advertises its co-op functions when it seems like it could care less about co-op. In short, allow an option to disable friendly fire, allow multiple players to use shops at one time, when a cutscene plays, play it for all players so no one misses anything. This game has a great foundation, i pray for its success.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tI was going to write a positive review for this game, despite a massive unignorable problem that festers at the heart of this game. Then I hit the 3rd overworld zone, and found another. So, the game is fun, but has two massive issues that completely ruin it:
Other than the two above issues, the game is good. Loot is diverse and deep, it looks wonderful, the combat is weighty and fairly balanced, world design is great, story is interesting. But the issues the game does have so completely overshadow everything else I just can't recommend it. I hope these things are fixed with the 1.0 update in a few months. But I’m not hopeful.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t
\n\n\t\t\t\t1) Real-time world
The game has daily and weekly quests, merchants restock daily, and enemies + resources that respawn on a timer. In game daily, tied to the nice little clock and day-night cycle? Oh, you sweet summer child, no. Real life daily. Merchants cycle their wares once each real life day. Quests too, along with another set that cycle each week. Enemies in the world and resources respawn after a real hour. There's a merchant that sells rare items, but he only appears from 8pm to midnight. Real time. Can't play games then? Screw you. The game's loot cycle is logging on each day, like it's a MMO trying to keep its numbers up. But NRftW is a single player + coop game. The devs don't benefit from this system. The players don't either. SO WHY IS IT LIKE THIS?2) Terrible performance
The game runs badly. Not "get a better GPU or CPU" badly. No, it's not even using half of either, yet can't get above about 45FPS in the town. Well, that's fine, I thought. Not like you're fighting in the town, and most places are a solid 60. Then I hit the 3rd zone. Unstable 20 FPS. I probably can't finish the game, because this zone runs so badly it's actually unplayable. It's not like I can turn down settings either. The game has resolution, motion blur, and AI upscaling. That's it. Texture quality, shadows, lighting? All just missing. And again, it's not even using much of my CPU or GPU, it's just... not running well. There's something deeply wrong with this game optimization, and it'll probably prevent me from beating the game.Other than the two above issues, the game is good. \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tAs this is an Early Access review, I'll be revisiting later to see how the launch version shapes up. There's a lot of promise here, but my initial impressions after grinding the first zones with a few characters left a really sour taste in my mouth.
I'm a Souls-like junkie. I love sweaty combat systems. I like difficulty. I feel like that's important context for my first major gripe with the game (and the thing I'll be focusing most on): The combat system feels outright terrible for certain weapon types. By the game's description, it wants the combat to feel 'weighty'. The problem is, for big two-handers, they aren't 'weighty'. They're just slow. In a 'weighty' system, I'd expect the start-up of the attack with a big weapon to be slower, but once in motion, there's nothing stopping it. You're slow, but have momentum. Swinging a big weapon sometimes means taking an incoming hit (ie - knowing when to trade) and that's the fun of that kind of weapon type.
While NRftW does appear to have poise-like stats under the hood, let me tell you that it doesn't feel like it when wielding large weapons. The tiniest hits from enemies will knock you out of your attack animation. Coupled with a start-up time that feels like swinging through molasses and you have the frustrating reality of your allegedly 'weighty' swing getting halted when a fast enemy with a tiny dagger so much as gently pokes you once.
While this can be mitigated in a one-on-one fight by being really defensive and using parry stuns to open up risk-free windows of opportunity... all that goes out the window when you have to fight multiple enemies at once. Which the game has you do frequently. Parry timing perfected? Doesn't matter when there's 4 psychopaths constantly swinging in at alternating times. Even if you don't get hit by the time your Parry recovery animation is over, you certainly don't have enough time to capitalize off it. Parrying one mob doesn't prevent the others from swinging in (and they're all going to be swinging in).
So you can try the age-old strategy of kiting to try and isolate members of the enemy group. Good call... except literally every mob I've come across has ranged attacks to continue pressuring you at range. So, again, your slow start-up times are just going to result in your death. There's nothing fun about that.
This game bills itself as a solo-playable experience... yet all the things I outlined above makes heavy weapons feel like a 'multiplayer only' option... and that stinks. Yeah, I can get through the game pretty easily by just using a ranged weapon to avoid the danger of getting into combat... but what's that say when the game gives you options that are just going to be a blocker to progress? Not because of skill, but because the game's system just fundamentally make those weapons a worse option. The internal imbalance between weapon types is way too large for me to come away with a positive view.
This is exacerbated by a gearing and leveling system that doesn't really reward you for changing up your playstyles. Carry weight is extremely unforgiving. Want to use that big hammer they gave you as your first weapon drop? Better get used to not wearing armour for a few levels. Want to switch weapons after a few levels realizing you don't like feeling like you're fighting under water? Better hope you saved a low-stat-requirement version of it from earlier in the game... because the vendors and crafting all level with you, so you won't find much starter gear past the intro to the game. This game really forces you to commit to a playstyle. You pick a playstyle that it turns out is terrible? Start again, idiot.
So, my negative review is death by a thousand cuts. There's a million little annoyances with leveling and crafting that force you to regrind areas well after their novelty has worn off... and that might still be worth it if the core gameplay loop was really interesting and rewarding. But it's not. At least, not for a bunch of weapon types. I heard that they're introducing a class system on launch. It is interesting to see such a great range of genres meshed up in a game. It is an ARPG but with crafting, housing and other game modes in it such as Crucible which is a rogue-like mode, and it is incredibly fun. Making a build and using it is also really fun. I don't really have that much complaints overall, I just hope the development goes smoothly, and that the game gets better and better.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

*The Garbage Weight Load System: On top of everything else, you have to deal with an incredibly annoying weight capacity system. Want to wear decent armor so you don't get one-shot by a basic mob? Enjoy fat-rolling and moving like you're stuck in wet cement. The game desperately wants to be a fast-paced ARPG but forces heavy, sluggish weight restrictions on you that ruin the flow of combat.
*The Broken Durability Loop: Die to an overturned, health-sponge basic enemy? Congratulations, your gear degrades. Now you have to pay a fortune to repair it. Where do you get that money? By farming materials. Except you can't farm materials efficiently because your gear is broken and you can't afford healing items. It’s a toxic, looping tax on your time.
*Inventory Management Simulator: The inventory limits are an absolute joke. You have a microscopic bag to hold food, ingredients, gear, and upgrade items. You spend half your playtime playing Tetris in your inventory or backtracking to dump items, completely destroying any sense of adventure or pacing.
*Combat is a Chore, Not a Challenge: Regular mobs hit like freight trains and possess infinite poise, while your character gets staggered by a gentle breeze. Every single generic encounter feels like a miserable boss fight.The art team deserves a raise, but the systems designers need to actually play their own game. Started it off on the hardest difficulty because I assumed that "balanced" would mean normal and not that challenging and I was glad I did that. First few enemies reminded me about the stamina consumption and Darak reminded me about not going in like a fool.
Glad I got this game although I dont have any friends that enjoy these 3 games mixed into one but solo is enjoyable enough

Then if you don't have a great weapon, you have to go find one, or keep more on you. Or go back to the stash. I've always wanted a game that captured the feeling of exploring a Dark Souls world with friends. I tried Elden Ring with the Seamless Co-op mod, hoping it would scratch that itch, but this is the first game that truly delivers the experience I was looking for.
Combat is punishing without ever feeling unfair. Every weapon feels unique, every fight demands attention, and every victory feels earned. The world is beautifully crafted—dense, interconnected, and constantly rewarding curiosity. Exploring rarely feels like a waste of time because there's always something hidden around the next corner.
Progression is another highlight. Upgrading your village, improving your gear, unlocking new crafting options, and experimenting with builds all feel meaningful. It's a grind, but never the boring kind. Every session leaves you feeling stronger than when you started.

- É um RPG muito bom, de visual singular e combate tático. A perspectiva de visão é isométrica, como em Diablo ou PoE, mas tem uma gameplay padrão Soulslike.
- Esse jogo não é dos mais exigentes em termos de hardware, mas em mapas povoados e amplos você pode passar dificuldade com um PC mais modesto, então fique atento aos requerimentos de sistema elencados pelos desenvolvedores.
- A narrativa do jogo cria uma ótima imersão. Mas na minha opinião o que mais se destaca é o combate, que até pode ser bem punitivo para os iniciantes, mas o desafio é o que torna a experiência interessante.
- Atualmente o jogo está em acesso antecipado, então não sei como será a precificação no futuro, mas eventualmente "No Rest for the Wicked" é colocado em promoção e cabe a você escolher o momento mais conveniente para adquiri-lo, se quiser.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t
