\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tYou hear a lot of great things about this game. I've never really cared much about cowboys or horses, so I never picked it up. Then it went on sale and I thought, "Well, maybe it would be a good idea to play something that doesn't fit my interests at all."
After the first two hours, I genuinely thought I had wasted 15€, but I kept playing. And boy, was I wrong.
RDR2 might be one of the best - if not THE best - story-driven game I've ever played.
The pacing feels incredibly slow at the beginning, but makes perfect sense when you look back on it.
You have to let go of the urge to get things done and check off quests one after another. You don't rush through the main quests to finish the story. You're exploring the world and the characters. You simply exist in this world.
And that's something you really have to be willing to embrace.
Don't get me wrong, the main story itself is fantastic, but honestly, I don't think it's what makes this game so special.
The real magic happens between the main missions: in the small encounters, the random people you meet along the road, the places you stumble across and all the little moments.
At times this game almost felt like therapy. It's a weird mix of brutality and cozy game - and somehow, both sides fit together perfectly. I would have never guessed that I could feel so comfortable, so much at ease in a game like this.
The characters are another huge part of why I love this game with every fibre of my being.
You might hate some of the characters when you first meet them. But the more time you spend with them, the more you understand that they're just people. They have their flaws, they make mistakes, they can be frustrating as hell - but you'll love them for exactly what they are: human.
And then there's Arthur Morgan, our protagonist.
You're not the hero of this story. You're not the villain, either. You're just some guy trying to live his life.
He's not perfect. He makes terrible decisions, hurts people, gets angry, but he's also kind, caring, funny and thoughtful.
An incredible main character you can grow alongside.
If a game can make me finish a 67-hour playthrough and immediately think, "I want to do that again, but so much slower," I think that says everything.
Also, this game might be for the horse girlies. Started it not caring about horses at all, ended it as a horse girl myself.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

I got to see a big beautiful world that I could walk around in. Explore. To witness a story that felt like I was a part of. The graphics so beautiful. While the gameplay is the same as every R* game, it doesn't need to do much make this experience unforgettable. The movie-like scenes and scenarios that are still engrained in my head and the unforgettable dialogue.
While I feel like the pacing does screw up in chapter 5, the story is strong. It keeps going and its gets more gut wrenching the more it continues. The OST is also just so amazing. I hope whatever else they do with Red Dead is good and promising. But the ceiling is very high so lets just hope.

It makes you want to find out how Arthur Morgan's story and the journey of the Van der Linde gang will unfold. But it's not just about the curiosity of seeing how things end. Arthur's struggles, the ups and downs of his journey, and the emotional moments he goes through gradually make you feel more connected to him and genuinely care about his fate.
The game also features a huge and diverse open world, filled with different wildlife, aquatic species, vegetation, varied landscapes, and changing weather conditions. The incredible attention to detail makes the world feel alive and believable, while simply exploring it is an enjoyable experience in its own right.
Some missions genuinely feel like scenes from a great movie, combining action, tension, and tragedy in ways that completely draw you in and leave a lasting impression.
My only real criticism is the achievement system. To unlock every Steam achievement, you have to play Red Dead Online as well as the story mode, since several achievements are exclusive to the online component. I really wish the story mode and online achievements were separated, allowing players to complete the story mode achievement set on its own. If that were the case, I'd be much more motivated to go for 100% achievement completion.
As for the Van der Linde gang, I feel that some of its members could have benefited from more character development, particularly when it comes to their backgrounds, motivations, and personalities. Never lose access to your email associated with your Rockstar account because you will lose access to any of your Rockstar games. World is insanely detailed, story is emotional with characters that will grow on you and engrave in your memory, accompanied with really superb voice acting, and when it comes to gameplay game just does the job phenomenal.
A lot of people quit this game early or don't play it cause its length but trust me, its slow-burner that's crafted to be savoured, it took me 15 hours to hook me in, you are being put in gigantic world with tons of mechanics and possibilities and characters that are unknown to you in the beginning, but after adapting to the gameplay, after bonding with the characters and when story finally decides to kick in, oh boy, you are in for a ride.
Play it, take your time, hunt, they made hunting so good, it's like a game within a game, explore, speak with the npc's, gamble your money away, do stranger mission questlines, which are by the way for the most part very fun with again, memorable characters leading them, and just experience this western adventure like its meant to be experienced without rushing from main mission to next main mission.
I declare that this game is timeless masterpiece, even though it has some minor flaws that would either be my nit-picks or some flaws that games done by Rockstar had in the past already, I wouldn't get into that because they are not impactful enough to negate the brilliance. I know my login information but Rockstar thinks its COMPLETELY REQUIRED for you to have access to an email account that you created 10 years ago. Creating a new account apparently makes it so it doesn't recognize that you have purchased the game. I own the game on BOTH steam and epic games and I'm unable to PLAY THE GAME ANYMORE because they WILL NOT allow you to create a new account.

There are so many places to explore, so many side quests to do, so many people to rob or help them, so many little features that make this game feel like a real worlds. It's so fun hunting down little side quests, finding the camps of other gangs and hunting down people with bounty on their heads. I also really like the shooting system. Obviously Dead Eye is the main attraction and yeah its awesome to play with but the style of shooting is super immersive and fun, it's a very simple concept done incredibly right - just involves you ducking and shooting but it has micro features like types of guns, types of ammunition and Dead eye to spice it up. The graphics are incredible for a 2018/2019 game and even rivals some current games, is also optimized very well.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t
