When someone attacks me on the campaign map, in the battle, they should have to attack. Aren't they attacking? Why to they get to sit on top of the hill and not engage?
Like I am just going to continue to march wherever I was going and ignore them.

\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tSiege needs a total rework, units cant walk around siege terrain at all, units sometimes cant place down ladders, giant clumps of infantry at gates that refuse to move, unit control ranges from extremely responsive to completely schizophrenic, factions like slaanesh or khorne have too plain of a roster and gameplay loop and feel like a chore to play, DLC's are obnoxious and overpriced, you have to spend close to 1000 aud just to get all of the in game content, some DLCs are just not even worth it, there is a paywall to get blood effects in a warhammer game, the multiplayer is barely functioning, the in game objectives are unfulfilling and past 100 turns the game is extremely boring and loses any real purpose to "finish" a campaign other than complete map domination, the base game factions are too limited, the game sometimes crashes for no reason or have extreme performance drops, the only way to play any new content is more paywall, overall, the most fun ive had on any rts or grand strategy game, and one of my favourite games.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tAs a Major Fan of the Warhammer IP i know just as much as any fan that this series is, to put it in the lightest term "Expensive" Personally I'm a bigger fan of 40k compared to age of Sigmar. and yes There's a bunch of DLC, The newer individual character bundles cost 9-10$ and factions and character bundles cost about 20$ each and some are more then questionably balanced (physical sets for the tabletop cost as 60$ for a infantry team). But the game does have Workshop support, you can get mods like Radius, which massively expands the unit roster. Legendary lords, to get access to more playable characters. And Ovn to give you entire new races and factions. or even Millennium and mods like it to rework entire Factions. While some mods do require dlc its not like you have to buy it all at once, again most DLC's are just individual characters to spice up your campaign, if your Already into Warhammer as a hobby this game is basically pocket change especially if you buy it on sale. and Thanks to the steam workshop you can turn the game into whatever you like, This is a Must play for those that are Truly into Warhammer.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

I have accumulated hundreds of hours in this game, it is true, but I've also spent hundreds of dollars for the various DLCs and previous 1 and 2 games. Once you get familiar with the game it is no longer fun, since the AI factions cannot ever challenge you due to the deluge of game-breaking bugs. Apparently this was not always the case and some careless update broke the basic functionality of the game if you try to play it on anything less than a dedicated tower that can handle its horrible misuse of VRAM. Developer is too busy pumping out DLCs to address how broken it is. At least Empires came free with 1 and 2 so we can have fun exploring the menus.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tLike many games where the AI isn't very smart, it cheats. The problem is that it does so rather blatently and often times in ways that ruin a playthrough. Nothing feels worse than winning a very hard fought battle against a legendary lord only for them to pop right back up with an army that's just as strong. The AI isn't smart, so to compensate they cheat and it sucks.
This has been a long time issue with the Total War Warhammer games, and at this point there's no reason it shouldn't have been fixed. A real bummer, I've played a lot of this game but I think it's time to table it for good.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

Total War: Warhammer III is one of the best games I've played, and yet I don't actually recommend it to anyone unless you have money to burn.
The Good
There are a ridiculous number of factions, and almost all of them offer their own playstyle.
Skaven give you powerful ranged units, expendable infantry and some wonderfully ridiculous weapons. Dwarfs bring tons of armor, excellent infantry and strong ranged units. Warriors of Chaos are all about powerful melee armies, while Slaanesh hits extremely hard but can fall apart just as quickly.
And that's only scratching the surface.
You have guns, magic, swords, dragons, giant monsters, artillery, flying units and armies that play completely differently from one another. There is an enormous amount of variety here, and experimenting with different factions is a huge part of what makes the game so much fun.

The biggest problem is that the game can look perfectly balanced when you're still learning it.
But once you start digging deeper into the mechanics, you quickly discover how easy it is to abuse the AI - both on the campaign map and during manual battles.
You can manipulate the AI into making terrible decisions, exploit how it handles certain situations, and eventually find strategies that make encounters far easier than they were clearly intended to be. The more you understand the game's systems, the less "balanced" the game starts to feel.
The difficulty settings can also be misleading. On easier difficulties, the game gives your armies some pretty extreme bonuses. This can create situations where your army is so heavily buffed on the campaign that the balance of a manual battle becomes completely different from what the player might expect.
Ironically, this can make a newer player think they're much better or much worse at manual battles than they actually are. If you're playing on Easy and struggling with a battle, it isn't necessarily because you're bad at the game — the difficulty modifiers can have a huge impact on how battles play out. This is just one of many examples.
Overall
Despite all of its shortcomings, especially when it comes to balance and AI, Total War: Warhammer III is still incredibly fun.
There is so much variety that even after hundreds of hours, you can still find new factions, units and strategies to mess around with. And if you become good enough at the game, you can get a surprising amount of enjoyment out of almost any army.
So yes, I think it's one of the best games I've played.
And no, I probably wouldn't recommend it to you.
