Vehicles falling through the world, vehicles yeeting into the air and off the map when you attach a trailer, vehicles taking 5x damage in MP.. per player logged in, Sprinters being silent. Losing all your cloths if you get into combat with a bandage on you. Inability to use guns in multiplayer at random (You shoot but the bullets do nothing)
I don't think they test anything whatsoever before release, or most of these would have been caught. Often when the change log states they fixed a bug its not actually fixed and when called out they claim to have 'accidently' reverted the code before release as if they have no idea how to use source control.
Then you have modding, where they break most mods every other update and brick all saves on every single update (that they release every month) while removing features many mods depended on. Often modders find that it would have taken less then an hour of development time to make saves compatible between versions but the developers just didn't bother. They remove the old versions of the game so you can't even continue your save either. Many top tier modders have left the community because of this.
They refuse to fix bugs from 8+ months ago when given the exact 1 line fix, claiming they 'can't fix that, because we're going to rewrite that system one day' while they haven't rewritten any systems since B42 first came out while a single modder has rewritten half a dozen systems in the same time frame. Bugs such as: Mods being unable to change a cars acceleration in forward, only in reverse. Butchering yielding a tiny fraction of the intended food, wound infection damage sandbox setting doing nothing, etc.
Food is a trainwreck, butchering a cow gives you 1 days worth of food (2000 calories) while butchering a rabbit gives you 2 days (4000 calories) worth of food. Milking a cow gives you 7 days food.. per day and the milk does not rot. Most foods have randomly assigned nutritional values that make no sense whatsoever and result in your character constantly losing weight unless you have one of the 5 foods in the game with enough calories out of about 100 foods. Some crops give you 50,000 calories per tile while others give you 10.
Nutrition system is pointless, you can't see your calories, fat, carbohydrates or protein level in game and fat/carbohydrates literally do nothing whatsoever. Protein's effects are so obscured nobody ever cares about it and calories are horribly broken as well.
Vehicles are a joke, with all vehicles being 600~1400kg and 400~800HP yet all seem to drive nearly the exact same because they multiply slowdowns from hitting zombies by your vehicle weight so all vehicles slow down the exact same amount. Vehicle condition doesn't matter as nothing changes between 1% and 100% condition of any of your vehicle parts. Vehicles fall through the world if you leave an area or leave a trailer attached. Recently attaching a trailer will also yeet your vehicle into the air. Turning at speed will cause your vehicles tires to fall through the world and your vehicle to smash into the ground taking damage. There is no change in traction based on weather, terrain or tire condition. Your brake and engine condition doesn't matter either.
Single Modders have rewritten the entire vehicle physics, nutrition system, car mechanic system, cooking system, butcher system, etc while the developers have done nothing with any of those years, but said modders have left the community due to the developers constantly making the game unplayable while breaking their mods and removing functionality those mods relied on.
The medical system is pointless, something like a torso fracture takes 60 ingame days aka 90 *real life hours* to heal with no settings to change that speed and while the items in the game that are supposed to speed healing do nothing. Changing your bandages to avoid infection is pointless because infection does nothing, even if you turn on 'infected wound damage' it still does no damage, a bug reported over 6 months ago and developers say they 'will not change it because they will one day rewrite the health system'. The only thing first aid skill does is let you heal leg/arm fractures faster.
Building bases is pointless as only player build structures can be destroyed by zombies and you only have the most ulgy wooden walls and crates that you can build, nothing from the basegame can be built by players. No traps or no defensive structures exist whatsoever so anything you do just slows a zombie down. And player built structures often have bad visual bugs like being able to see through walls, lighting errors, don't block zombie sickness like vanilla structures, etc.
Combat is just dumb, the zombies all follow you in a perfect line with no collision between zombies and 500+ zombies are easily defeated by a campfire with 0 effort on the players part. They have no ability to actually use their numbers as anything other then a damage soak and can't even force you to leave an area as you can ball them up and ignore them.
Animals will randomly destroy your base, attack you at random (doing fatal levels of damage in a single hit), duplicate 1000's of times until your FPS tanks and the game crashes or disappear (a bug that has existed since B42 first came out)
In short, its just a mess that is getting worse with every update as more and more game breaking bugs get released and not fixed every version. Some bugs that do get fixed reappear in the next version of the game.
The game has many features, but none of them have actually been balanced whatsoever and are pretty much pointless, they don't combine to add anything to the game. Once a feature is added its never tweaked again and any bugs in it are not fixed because the developers claim they will rewrite it someday but never do.
in 17 releases they have added basically nothing except a very buggy MP (the game had MP 17 releases ago, they just removed it and readded it with even more bugs after 12 releases after 2 years time), ragdolls that get stuck in your car when you drive over them (wrecking your car and making it unable to move), and some lame new aiming system where they set all the gun stats to the exact same values so no gun is any better/different then any other gun.
All this from a company who sells enough copies to be making $5,000,000 a year on their 14 year old 'early access' game that is still considered beta.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

Building bases is pointless as only player build structures can be destroyed by zombies and you only have the most ulgy wooden walls and crates that you can build, nothing from the basegame can be built by players. No traps or no defensive structures exist whatsoever so anything you do just slows a zombie down. And player built structures often have bad visual bugs like being able to see through walls, lighting errors, don't block zombie sickness like vanilla structures, etc.
Combat is just dumb, the zombies all follow you in a perfect line with no collision between zombies and 500+ zombies are easily defeated by a campfire with 0 effort on the players part. They have no ability to actually use their numbers as anything other then a damage soak and can't even force you to leave an area as you can ball them up and ignore them.
Animals will randomly destroy your base, attack you at random (doing fatal levels of damage in a single hit), duplicate 1000's of times until your FPS tanks and the game crashes or disappear (a bug that has existed since B42 first came out)
In short, its just a mess that is getting worse with every update as more and more game breaking bugs get released and not fixed every version. Some bugs that do get fixed reappear in the next version of the game.
The game has many features, but none of them have actually been balanced whatsoever and are pretty much pointless, they don't combine to add anything to the game. Once a feature is added its never tweaked again and any bugs in it are not fixed because the developers claim they will rewrite it someday but never do.
in 17 releases they have added basically nothing except a very buggy MP (the game had MP 17 releases ago, they just removed it and readded it with even more bugs after 12 releases after 2 years time), ragdolls that get stuck in your car when you drive over them (wrecking your car and making it unable to move), and some lame new aiming system where they set all the gun stats to the exact same values so no gun is any better/different then any other gun.
All this from a company who sells enough copies to be making $5,000,000 a year on their 14 year old 'early access' game that is still considered beta.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

Pros for Me:
Reminds me of SAS zombie assault when I was a kid on Miniclip
Takes bodypart damage seriously, similar to Green Hell and Rimworld.
Allows 4 players to ride in a vehicle together to go on quests and be adventurers
Allows you to pick different characters that have pretty mid-game buffs at start (team play encouraged)
Neutral:
Does not hold your hand or walk you through their mechanics (some crucial stuff is covered)
Map is huge to support, but Points of Interest are not impressive or unique (7 days player)
Zombies never run. This makes their movement predictable, but their locations can shock you if cocky

Building was inconsequential and some houses were flooded with zombies. Pipe wrench loses that fight.

It truly is an apocalypse game. Theres lots of mechanics to this game that make it very realistic and I do not know many games that portray that. It feels good to learn and conquer the hurdles. You will probably fail a lot but thats how you learn in this game. I have still not made it past day 30.

Theres mechanics like weight, nutrition, strength and fitness, and skills that make your character really unique and show progression. Its crazy how in depth it gets. And thats just scratching the surface

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tAfter sinking about 150 hours into this game, I can say 3 things: 1. You WILL learn as you continue playing and that 2. You WILL die no matter how safe you think you are, which after these 3. You WILL have fun as you begin to experiment with new mods, level up your skills, and kill hordes of zombies at one time. There is a steep learning curve to the unique type of "realism" system that Project Zomboid offers, which you will come to love after some time. For beginners, make sure to do the tutorial and start in Rosewood as your first map, it's easy to learn the locations and it has the 2 biggest police/fire stations in any of the maps, setting you up with a lot of loot to help you.
