\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tOne of the greatest games ever made. It truly captures that sense of exploration, fun and "one more minute" with the best of them. I have bought and played Terraria several times over nearly two decades, and would happily do so again. I have clocked countless hours playing on other platforms. I've bought it on my phone, I've played it on console, I've owned it on GOG. It's been with me for nearly two decades, across computers new and old. The creator just keeps making the game better, adding more and more incredibly interesting and surprising things to do.

This game is HARD. Boss fights are pure chaos, enemies somehow always hit you at the worst possible time, and sometimes I genuinely feel like the game is personally trying to make me angry.
You prepare for ages, get your weapons, potions, armor, build an arena, feel completely ready...
Then the boss appears and absolutely destroys you in 30 seconds. 💀
And somehow... I still come back.
Because Terraria is insanely good. The exploration, weapons, bosses, progression, building, secrets, biomes — there is always something new to find or something better to get. Every victory actually feels earned because the game made you suffer for it.
It can make me rage, question my skill, and nearly lose my mind...
But defeating a boss after getting destroyed multiple times is one of the most satisfying feelings ever.

For pre-hard mode if you are new to the game is going to be rough depending on what seed you have your world set to for corruption or crimson. Other than that I need to try out and building aspect of the game and more of the new features they added recently. Overall a 1000/10. I've seen people assume that this is just 'Minecraft but flat' and never bother playing it, but I assure you that this is so much more than that. The progression has so many unique options for players to mess around with, the bosses are awesome, the graphics (especially the fancy lighting added in 1.4.5) are beautiful, the music is great, the ambience is subtle yet great. Overall, it's just wonderful. I only have one major complaint though, it is 100% a wiki game. I hate that that's the case, but there's so much of the game that simply isn't explained to the player in-game that definitely should be. I wish you could learn this game easily without needing a wiki open the whole time. Other than that, this game is wonderful and 100% worth the price.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

There’s a general sense of progression, but you’re never really forced to stick to one thing. You can build, explore, collect, fight bosses, or just wander around and see what you come across
For me personally, I like to spend way too much time building and decorating my base. Other times, I’ll go exploring just to see what I can find and sometimes I get completely sidetracked trying to get a certain item or achievement. The game doesn’t explain everything to you, so there are lots of times when I have no idea what I’m doing and end up opening the wiki to figure out what to do next, which is probably what you would do too especially in your first blind playthrough. It can be a little overwhelming at times, but finally figuring something out and seeing how it fits into the game’s progression feels really rewarding

This was my first time playing this kind of game. The closest comparison I can make is Minecraft, although after playing it I realized Terraria has a lot more focus on combat, progression, finding better gear and fighting bosses.
I played mostly with friends who already knew what they were doing, so I'll be completely honest... they did most of the work 😂 I was basically following them around, doing a thing or two and learning what to do with their guidance. Without them, I probably would've spent half my time wondering what the hell I was supposed to do next.
I have pretty mixed feelings about the game though. There were times when I was genuinely having fun, especially when we were exploring, getting new equipment or fighting bosses together. But there were also sessions where I was just waiting for us to finish so I could close the game.
We also experienced some random lag while playing together even though our internet connections were fine. Not sure exactly what was causing it, but it happened enough times for me/us to notice.
