\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tI love the physical Wingspan game so much that my friends refuse to play it with me anymore (we have a lot of other board games to play). So I tried the digital version, but honestly, I was disappointed.
Even on a large screen, the interface doesn't make good use of the available space. I want to be able to see my entire hand at once, but instead I have to carefully move my mouse over the cards to see their details, and I can only see one card at a time.
The same problem exists with my player mat. The cards themselves are a good size, but I can either see the top part of the cards (name, food cost, and artwork), or switch to a view that shows their properties. I can't see the cards and their properties at the same time. I know there is another view that lets you look at the birds by habitat, but I find it less convenient — I prefer seeing my entire board at once.
Sometimes I also can't see the information I need when choosing bonus cards.
I wish the game made much better use of screen space and allowed us to see our entire hand and player mat at once, with the full card information visible. If showing everything on the cards at once isn't possible, it would at least be nice to have the card properties appear on hover.

You also get to see cute birds and learn more about them, so that's definitely a plus. And the music is very chill. There is almost no friction and 'take that' elements against opponents, at most just some bird cards that give bonuses to all players. If you enjoy head scratchers with still plenty of enjoyment and relaxation then this is perfect for you. I find it a bit easier to understand what is going on in the physical board game than this version but it is still fun regardless as it has multiple different backgrounds and characters to work with as well as some nice music and bird sfx. Overall, a very fun game that can help calm you down.

It's very seamless to go from the physical game to the online version, and I love the options to play against AI, other people, or Automa. The rules are (obviously) integrated into the gameplay, so you can't have house rules (to my knowledge), but honestly I've preferred this – it's even clarified rules that I didn't realize I had been misinterpreting when playing the physical game.
