Except! It's really good. The cleaning mechanics are solid, some of the best in the genre. The locations are beautifully thought out, full of character and packed with little secrets to discover. And the plot is lightly but thoughtfully applied, giving just enough scaffolding to make everything cohesive without overloading the player with lore. (Very similar to its spiritual sibling Powerwash Simulator in that regard!)
The plot invites but does not demand a subtle rumination on the nature of life, death, and violence. It lays out its themes and then steps back, allowing the player to come to their own conclusions.
Not everything is completely polished; there are some rough edges. But it's also obvious that this game is very much a labor of love, with several *substantial* expansions being added at no extra cost.

\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tI’m genuinely obsessed with this game. Crime Scene Cleaner is so satisfying and weirdly relaxing, and I ended up getting completely hooked. I love the different crime scenes, the little details, and the feeling of turning an absolute disaster into a spotless room!!
My only complaint is that I wish there were MORE LEVELS!! I finished them way too quickly because I couldn’t stop playing. I would genuinely play dozens more if they were added.

I bought this game yesterday. I have already played 18 hours. I don't have an explanation for this. At this rate, I expect my next achievement to be “Remembered to Eat Something”.
This game is absolutely brilliant! It has somehow managed to turn cleaning up blood, disposing of rubbish, moving furniture and generally making horrific crime scenes look presentable into one of the most satisfying gaming experiences I've had in ages.
And the attention to detail is fantastic. Bodies need to be removed, every last bit of blood cleaned, every piece of rubbish removed, and furniture returned to its original position. Apparently, after a gruesome murder, the real priority is making sure the coffee table is back where you found it!
The soundtrack is also fantastic. It fits perfectly with the creepy, atmospheric visuals and somehow makes casually mopping up several litres of blood feel almost relaxing. Nothing says “peaceful evening at home” quite like sinister music playing while you're scrubbing a suspicious stain off the floor!
There is, however, one thing in this game that genuinely causes me more distress than the crime scenes themselves:
THE BLOODY MOP BUCKET!!!
You can survive walking into a room that looks like someone has had a particularly violent disagreement with a wood chipper, but accidentally knock over the mop bucket? Absolutely unacceptable!
You spend ages meticulously cleaning everything, admiring your spotless work, feeling like you've finally restored order to the universe...
CLATTER!

The cleaning mechanics aren't as in-depth as Power Washer Simulator, but there is enough there to still be satisfying. Story is surprisingly good too, fully voice acted even though the voice acting for the player character is pretty stiff.
There is multiple levels and after completing the story, there are nightmare variations for Chapter 1 maps that are very different from the originals. The graphics aren't anything impressive, but the environments are well-crafted and I was positively surprised when I realized that the bodies are actually modeled to reflect what happened to them.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tI was trying to find games like Viscera Cleanup Detail and this game came right into my alley, I enjoyed this a lot. The story base of everything and the mechanics were great. I did enjoy the voice actor of Mr. Kovalsky, especially his goofy comments on things.
Turns out, though, I completed the entirety of Act 1 without realizing there was even a Skill Tree. I feel so dumb at not knowing but I kinda liked how it was. Definetly going to like these new perks, and I'm already liking the skins on all the tools and whatnot.
Can't wait to continue and finish all the other gamemodes and continue to the other acts (or whatever remains), as well as the new DLC coming out that I just saw.
