What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We want to get the game released as soon as possible, so that we can gather much feedback which we can implement before the actual release of the game. Therefore it is important to us to release the game in early access.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We want to release the game before the end of 2019. We want to have as much time as possible to gather feedback and implement extra features and game modes.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We want to have multiple different game modes, as opposed to the single one we have now. We also want to add more playable characters, traps and maps. We want to perfect the balance of traps, movement and area effects.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current game has one game mode available: capture the flag. This can be played with two or four players. We have 8 different traps with 4 different effects, which can be chosen and deployed by the players. We have complete controller support. We currently have four different choosable character models, two for each team.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The game will be free during early access, and we will keep it free after. We might add downloadable content later on that will include extra content for a small price tag.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“As said before we want to gather as much feedback as possible. We want to talk to the players as much as we can, so we want to use the steam forums as much as possible. We also use Reddit and other social media to engage our community. We want to encourage streaming and YouTube videos of our game, so that we can see the reactions of the players as they play.”

Beta 4 Released!

Hi everyone! We hope you are having fun with the new party mode! We’re very happy that you keep sending us useful feedback, and we’re constantly taking your feedback into consideration while we are trying to make the game even better. We’ve fixed various bugs that have been reported by you. You can refer to the changelog at the end of this update to see what exactly has been done.

We’ve also added two new characters! You can now play as the owl Santhi for the tribe, or as the maned wolf Moona for the pirates! We hope you enjoy these new characters as much as we do.

We’ve also added three new traps! Now you can create even more fun combinations to thwart your opponents. First there’s the spinning fire trap. Once activated this trap will rotate and create a stream of fire from two opposing ends, which will light a player aflame. Next we have the button mash trap. Once activated this trap will root a player, after which the player can’t move until he repeatedly presses his dash button. Lastly we’ve added the smoke bomb trap. Once activated this trap will release colorful smoke in a radius so that you can’t see this area. We can’t wait to see how you will use these traps.

We’ve also created a new map which is more suited for beginning players. This way players can better learn the game before they move on to more difficult maps or the party mode. This map is also very suited for trying out new trap combinations. Because we also want to add more maps in the future, and with the adding of this map, we’ve also created a level select screen. At the start of a versus game you can now choose on which map you want to play.

We hope you enjoy these new additions to the game! We love hearing from you, so if you have an issue, want to leave feedback or just want to have a chat with us you can leave a message in the community forums. Have fun playing Oh Trap!

About This Game

Oh Trap! is a couch co-op game for 2 or 4 players. Steal the other team’s treasures! Place traps strategically to either help yourself or stop your opponents.

Choose your team

Tribal vs Pirates, they both want the other side’s treasures, but they don’t want to lose their own. Choose your character from a variety of options.

Choose your traps
