What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We are thankful for the support we've received over the course of the last months, and are very happy to have such an active and supportive community helping us to grow the game. In order to take Steel Circus to the next level, we are going to give players the chance to play and practice daily during Early Access to determine skill curves, high-level plays, generate ideas for more modes & features, and in general balance the game with an ever-growing roster of champions

We see Early Access as an important phase where our focus is to listen, observe, verify, and analyze gameplay data in order to make the game more fun to play.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We will continue improving the game during Early Access, with new customizations, skins, arenas, etc. When we exit EA remains to be determined, but our goal is a full release in early 2020.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We have very exciting plans for Steel Circus! We will be working on regular content updates and new features such as new champions, arenas, customizations and most importantly competitive events and seasons. Our long-term goal is to feature 15+ champions along with 6+ arenas.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The core gameplay and game loop are implemented but we will continue polishing the game through Early Access. At the moment, Early Access features;

- 6 Champions
- 2 Arenas, each arena offers different variations
- Quickmatch Mode
- Trainings Ground
- More than 150+ customization options”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Steel Circus is free to play and will stay as free to play! There will be a special Early Access package that offers all champions now and forever, and a supporter pack with additional items. In-game transactions for unique cosmetics will not affect the core mechanics of the game. We will not include any form of pay to win mechanics and are refraining from offering loot boxes for various reasons.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“In order to improve the gameplay of Steel Circus, we are entering Early Access to allow players to play the game 24/7. We’ll observe, listen, and analyze data to balance the game for high-level plays while working closely with the community to ensure we deliver what our players want. Therefore, we'd love if you share your feedback by reaching us out on Discord, Twitter and Facebook.”

The game is set in the year 2350. After a long period of open conflict and war, there is frail peace in the solar system. Every year the most powerful factions meet as the Solar Council behind closed doors to discuss politics while Champions, representatives of each Faction, compete against each other at the Steel Circus in front of roaring crowds.
Steel Circus is a gigantic spectacle every soul in the solar system is watching closely. Champions are celebrated heroes, beacons of hope and a demonstration of power as they clash in the arena

Before each match, you need to choose a champion to play. Each champion has a unique playstyle and two special skills.
Some champions are great at supporting their team with buffs and heals while others are brawling powerhouses or specialists in wearing their opponents down from afar.
