“The software is fully functional. Users can create scenes, add and edit the included objects and characters, upload and design custom objects, edit the terrain, animate objects and characters, add and switch between cameras, and render videos. Characters can be animated to move, pose, emote and talk with built-in lip-syncing and a text-to-speech engine.”

Development Priorities

Thanks again for your support. I'd like to lay out an initial set of development priorities. These are subject to change and are subject to user input.
  1. Bug fixes. Make sure the software can recover from text-to-speech failures, loading failures, and graphics library issues. Add easy way to send crash report. (1 week)
  2. Add support for importing objects with custom animations attached to them (probably .glTF files) (2 weeks)
  3. Add support for additional 3d asset formats (specifically .obj and .stl) (1 week)
  4. Expose a Javascript scripting interface and publish an API for creating objects and animations. This can be used to create and animate hundreds of characters and objects simultaneously. (2 weeks)
  5. Develop more included objects. I will list out my plan for these in a later announcement. (8 weeks)
  6. Develop a "room-builder" object. This should work a bit like the terrain where you can edit panels to be doors, windows, etc. All of the objects for making and furnishing a house, office, school, etc should be included. (4 weeks)

About This Software

Atlantia is 3D animation software which allows untrained artists to easily and quickly make animated movies. It works at a very high level of abstraction so users can issue "walk here" or "say this" style commands. Users can then spend most of their time focusing on the story, instead of the tedious aspects of animation.

The software includes a growing library of built-in objects and animations. There are text-to-speech capabilities so that users can quickly write dialogue and automate lip-syncing. A custom, high performance inverse kinematics system helps automatically generate dynamic animations and pose characters. The terrain and sky can be easily edited to support many different environments.

All of these things together make it very fun and easy for an average user to make high quality animations. Please give it a try!
