What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Willowbrooke Post is a game built from the ground up with Early Access in mind. The game strikes a balance between management gameplay that will be influenced by players, as well as character-based elements – releasing in Early Access allows us to alter our approach to characters based on community feedback.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The game is envisioned to be in Early Access for about a year, though this is an estimate only.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Willowbrooke Post will be updated throughout Early Access with further features focused upon the running of the community post office. With the groundwork for Willowbrooke Post’s narrative having been laid by the Early Access release, the full version will contain an expanded narrative and further characters.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access release of Willowbrooke Post offers a comprehensive post office management experience, while introducing a cast of memorable and varied characters and laying the groundwork for an intriguing and engaging narrative.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The game’s price will increase throughout Early Access and/or at full launch. We will let you know about any price increases before they happen.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will be looking for suggestions and feedback frequently throughout Early Access development, and will be very active across the Steam forums, social media and Discord.”

New Characters Revealed + Official Soundtrack Samples

Hello villagers,

We're just over a month away from the 14 March Early Access launch of Willowbrooke Post, and I'm delighted to offer you an exciting update on the game!

New Characters Revealed

Willowbrooke Post is full of interesting characters which visit your post office and have various requests for you, such as wrapping parcels. Today, we're excited to reveal two brand new characters.

Official Soundtrack Samples - Willowbrooke Post Composer Announced

Firstly, I'm excited to announce that Willowbrooke Post's original soundtrack is composed by Chris Randle, whose music and sound design credits include Team 17's LA Cops and Mike Bithell's Volume.

Willowbrooke Post Main Theme
Chris Randle: The overarching goal of the soundtrack was to create something that reflects the warmth and neighbourliness of life in a small village. The main theme sets the scene, so it had to communicate this idea. I focused on making the musical setting as intimate as I could by using brushes on drums, breathy woodwinds and fingerpicked guitars.

Train Journey Through a Snowy Landscape
We also have one more piece of music to share today, a piece which accompanies the game's opening sequence with the player character travelling from back home to Willowbrooke.

Chris Randle: The train to Willowbrooke takes place on a snowy New Years Eve night. I wanted to capture this in the music. The melody itself is based on a steam train whistle, played using blown bottle samples. I chose the accompanying organ because it reminded me of the chuffs of a steam engine. The high chimes sit behind it all to add a wintery, starry feel.

If you want to find out more about Willowbrooke Post's talented composer or to follow his updates, you can find his website here and his Twitter here.

If you're yet to add the game to your Steam wishlist, make sure to do so to keep up to date!

About This Game

Your parents leave unexpectedly, entrusting you with their beloved post office. With only a handful of coins and guidance from a family friend, you’ll need to manage finances, serve the community and protect the family reputation, until they return.

The post office is a social hub for the village, and you’ll become a key part of the colourful community – one where each action could impact your relationship with the residents.

Take on numerous tasks in the day to day running of the post office, including sorting packages for delivery, parcel wrapping, stamping letters, typing out emails, writing letters, and managing your ledger.

Other activities around the house include checking in with community members on the phone as well as following a multitude of cooking recipes, to bake villagers delicious treats.

As well as the day to day post office customers, you’ll also get to know a handful of familiar faces from Willowbrooke. These quirky characters include the gregarious Magnifique and your steadfast family friend Pete.

Your actions, both in terms of how you interact with the residents of Willowbrooke, and how you decide to run the post office, will impact your relationship with each character. Deliver Magnifique’s camera as expected and they’ll be delighted. Take it for yourself instead, and you’ll witness a glimpse of Magnifique’s darker side.

Learn more about the residents of Willowbrooke through the types of parcels they send, the letters they write, and how they react to your actions.
