What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We feel that we are ready to demonstrate our core gameplay and provide you with the central atmosphere of the game through the sweet & robust Open Day Edition, while other enhancements are in the works. Much of the juicy in-world content & novella alludes to various aspects of the elemental arts and hints at the great world beyond - you will take your first steps into a brave, new world through Early Access, and Aeternitas will grow along with you. In the meantime, we would like to learn about what you would like to see - and what your experience has been like!”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect Aeternitas to be in the Early Access stage for about six months after the initial release in June, where additional features that are being worked on will be progressively integrated for the official release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The Definitive Edition will include a fully integrated combat system with the 4 elemental arts as its focus, along with further adventures made available within the school and outside it; think Harry Potter meets The Last Airbender. Various challenging opponents, both human and spirit, will feature in the game, and so will a multitude of different elemental skills you can learn and master and synergize, offering an experience quite unlike anything that's currently out there.

If you buy & play Aeternitas during Early Access, you will be given full access to the Definitive Edition as gratitude for your support. To get a sneak peek at what's to arrive, talk with the professors of each elemental art at Aeternitas.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Open Day Edition which we have made available includes the Open Day Story chapter, set where Elwin, our protagonist, arrives at Aeternitas and begins his journey into the great unknown. You will be able to experience the story by interacting with various characters, explore the main campus in which the majority of the game takes place, and interact with objects including signs and books which, when read, will reveal more about the world of Aeternitas and hint at content to come.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The Open Day Edition which we have released for Early Access is priced lower than the eventual Definitive Edition which will debut in a few months. If you buy & play Aeternitas during Early Access, you will be given full access to the Definitive Edition as gratitude for your support. Our philosophy is that we want to provide players right now with a robust taste of what they can eventually expect & it shouldn't be a costly investment for them to do so - it's Open Day, after all.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Through reviews and comments, we would like to hear feedback from the community on what additional features players think would enhance the overall experience, what they found interesting and/or needs improvement, as well as take into account public interest to see whether additional content could eventually be released along with the Definitive Edition. Every review helps - and we would appreciate it heartily for thoughtful feedback. We appreciate your spiciest memes, too. Thank you for reading this FAQ, and welcome to the world of Aeternitas!”

v.2.0.1. "Raphael" Patch Notes/Bugfixes

Dear everyone,

I have pushed out a new patch! Log out & restart Steam to download it.

Patch notes:

1) Fixed an elusive bug where Elwin would turn invisible by refracting the light around himself & confuse his friends and bystanders. Since there exists no individual (not even at the Institute of Atomcraft) who can currently go invisible by way of the elemental arts, he's been made visible again.

2) Fixed the music on the airship overlaying with that of Aienwater when you exit. There can only be one.

3) Temporarily brought down "Target Display" and "Display Mode" options from the Main Menu until the screen scaling errors are fixed.

4) Fixed dialogue not starting if you spam the space button a dozen times within a single second (how is your hand fast enough?)

If you do not see any of the changes made above (e.g., in main menu options), you may have to restart your computer. Thank you for your patience & unwavering support!

And of course, welcome, to Aeternitas.

MEET THE CAST

You will step into the world as Elwin, an ordinary boy who lost his father at a young age to a daring expedition into the unknown. Find your way into Aeternitas, engage with various people whom you can befriend or antagonize, get in-tune with fantastic lore and techniques of the elemental arts, immerse yourself in the life of being a student at an extraordinary academy, and uncover the truth behind this peaceful world you took for granted.

Katherine is the only daughter of a wealthy business magnate, who has found her way into Aeternitas with nothing short of extraordinary effort. As the only wielder of the elemental arts in her family, she wants to set things right - but in the process finds her worldline entangled with that of Elwin and others. Her future will be swayed by your words and advice.

Robert is the passionate, go all-in figure who strives to be a hero for others. But his confident persona belies a tragic event which only he knows - and has resolved to avenge.

Rafia is a quiet and stoic wielder of the elemental arts. Having spent a rough childhood in poverty, she is determined not to see failure in her future - and secure safety and freedom for whom she loves.

Professor Aionia is a passionate, well-versed professor of Experimental Philosophy at Aeternitas. Though she has been recognized as quite the academic and a warrior of the elemental arts, her past is an enigma. She finds her worldline entangled with that of Elwin.

As for others, well - why don't you dive in & find out?

In the Open Day Edition of AETERNITAS for Early Access, you can:

Immerse yourself in the soulful, character-rich story with an emphasis on school life;

Engage & convince a rich cast of characters with their unique skills to help you out, each with special dialogue and individual storylines;

Choose your dialogue, altering Elwin's character and relations for the definitive edition;

and experience a life you never had.

Enough reading - jump into Aeternitas!
