What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Aeternitas has been in development for quite some time, and we are ready to demonstrate some core gameplay and provide prospective players with the central atmosphere of the game through our robust & sweet Early Access Edition. Features we are working on that are not crucial to gameplay but will ultimately enhance the overall experience, such as a sleeker battle system GUI and a unique book-based spell management system, are currently in the works and are expected to be integrated into the final Extended Edition that is projected to release in January. In the meantime, we would like to gauge player interest, procure necessary feedback, and generate publicity, which is best performed through Early Access.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect Aeternitas to be in the Early Access stage for 1 to 2 months, where additional features that are being worked on will be progressively integrated for the official release. A rough estimate on when we expect to exit the Early Access phase is around late January of 2019.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The Extended Edition will include an additional 5 ‘chapters’ worth of storylines and challenging opponents. The Extended Edition will therefore put the appetizing story of the current Early Access Edition in a greater & more complete context, and provide experience-enhancing features which include, but are not exhaustively limited to: an updated battle system GUI, a unique book-based spell management system, and character-specific spells that provide unique flair to their personalities and roles throughout the story.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access Edition which we have made available includes 2 chapters of story amongst the seven that has been already completed, where players can expect anywhere from 1 to 2 hours of playtime. Players in this edition will be able to experience the story by interacting with various characters, explore the main campus in which the majority of the game takes place, and interact with objects including signs and books which, when read, will reveal more about the world of Aeternitas and hint at content to come.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Aeternitas in Early Access will be made available for free. Our philosophy is that we want to provide players right now with a robust taste of what they can eventually expect & it shouldn't be a costly investment for them to do so.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Through reviews and comments, we would like to hear feedback from the community on what additional features players think would enhance the overall experience, what they found interesting and/or needs improvement, as well as take into account public interest to see whether additional content could eventually be released as DLCs along with the Extended Edition.”
