Ce que l'équipe de développement a à dire :

Pourquoi choisir l'accès anticipé ?

« We still have plenty of work, as we plan to add much more conflicts, events and bifurcation points as well as additional mechanics, but the core gameplay is ready, so this project can be playable and enjoyable at the current stage. Taking the game specifics into account, it is very important to polish the balance, so that's where the players' feedback could come in handy. Of course, we are ready to hear feedback and suggestions not only about the balance issues, but about any other game aspects as well. »

Pendant combien de temps environ ce jeu sera-t-il en accès anticipé ?

« We estimate that the Early Access period will last about 5-6 months. »

En quoi la version finale sera-t-elle différente de la version en accès anticipé ?

« We have the following plans for the full version (although we won't stop with that and continue to develop the game further):

- A deep storyline in the form of a branching sequence of missions with several endings: for example, you will be able to roleplay a cynical businessman and pragmatist, a staunch supporter of one of the two ideological blocs, or an insane sociopath obsessed with the idea of plunging the whole world into chaos.
- Addition of mercenaries. Mercenaries are "acquired" in the same way as weapons. They can either be sent to conflict zones, or you can hire them into the crews of your ships and aircraft to provide additional protection.
- More random events. The likelihood that something unexpected will happen with your transport or cargo, or even with your character, will be depending directly on the security factor and other parameters.
- Heroes. The game about the arms dealer's business can't be too abstract: it is rather important to show personalities, to display the protagonist and his team properly. Therefore, periodically in areas of conflicts you will be encountering local heroes available for hire - mercenaries, warlords, dissidents, criminals. Each of the characters will have characteristics that make him or her a valuable specialist in certain field. The hero can be sent to the conflict zone (in order to increase the chances of one of the parties to win), send weapons to the exporting country (so that he improves relations with the military or dulled the intelligence of the special services) or appoint to the ship (in order to further reduce the likelihood that you will be robbed by pirates or catch a customs inspector).
- A new sub-type of events - coups. Technically, they are very similar to conflicts, but require fast, decisive action: they are active for about a week, and during this time it is necessary to deliver weapons to one of the parties. Coups are necessary in order to make the game world even more alternative-historical.
- Additional map detail: more countries and regions.
- New conflicts, including alternative historical chains. What could happen if you help side B and not side A, which has won in real history? Would the winner pay attention to the disputed territories of its neighbour C? And how would its neighbour D react to this? And what could do the distant superpower E in that case? We have studied thoroughly many historical territorial claims and unfulfilled ambitions of leaders that were overthrown or didn't had a chance to come to power at all - and on this basis we are working on new branches of conflicts and events that didn't occur in our reality, but would have had high chances if the history had developed a little otherwise.
- Improved algorithms of the rivals' behaviour.
- More new types of weapons, including aviation and ballistic missiles. »

Quel est l'état actuel de la version en accès anticipé ?

« Currently the game has:
- Arms trade mechanics (you can freely purchase, deliver and sell large number of different weapons, dealing with various states and non-state actors);
- About 50 various conflicts;
- Dynamic event system that allows the game map to change according to real history as well as to players' actions. »

Le prix du jeu sera-t-il différent pendant et après l'accès anticipé ?

« The price will be subject to change with high probability. »

Comment comptez-vous impliquer la communauté dans le processus de développement ?

« We will listen to the players' comments and suggestions regarding balance, mechanics and content. We intend to openly discuss all these topics and take the community opinion into account during the further work on the project. »

À propos de ce jeu

Death Trader: Cold War is a strategy game about the controversial life of a arms dealer. You begin on January 1, 1960, with a brand new cargo airplane, which, apparently, was a present from Santa Claus. How'd you use such an invaluable asset in a profitable manner? Well, here's the way: just buy weapons from the military and sell it to rebels and insurgents! Obvious, isn't it?

The whole world with all its conflict areas is at your disposal - from the hills of Indochina to the Central American jungle. Conflicts are constantly arising and ceasing, and you can have an active influence on this process. Choose the side which cause is worthy to support and lead it to victory - or be a cynical hypocrite and sell weapons to both sides in order to prolong the confrontation for more personal gain. At first glance, the life of a arms dealer is not so complicated. You buy weapons through unofficial channels, using connections in military departments of different countries. Then you select a suitable buyers and send them a transport with deadly cargo. If you reach the destination without any adventures, pirates and custom officers, and if your contractor is completely satisfied with everything - the deal is concluded. And while the time will be passing, new models of weapons will appear, and special services from different countries will begin to show more and more attention to your humble person...

Key features:

  • Dozens of weapons from 8 countries - from submachine guns to tanks;
  • Nearly 50 historical conflicts and almost 100 different insurgent groups and governments that you can support;
  • Dynamic map: territories change ownership not only with the current of history, but also depending on your direct actions.

Remember: illegal arms trade is a crime in accordance with international treaties and national laws! Don't try to use the game experience in real life. If possible, avoid getting into the arms trade, support of insurgent movements or unleashing of a new Cold War!
