What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“To allow for the vast community to leave their mark on this game, we want Bombjour to be the best it can be and as a sandbox title players imaginations are key. We would like to capture their imaginations into our product. The core work of developing structural stress algorithms that can run real time has been completed, we just need to add an artistic shell over our creation.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“12 months”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Full level editor (Partially implemented!)
Imagination is key to this game, and we want to implement an easy to use editor to take our stress calculating algorithms to any building you can imagine.

18 distinct destructible buildings
In the base game before user content we plan 18 distinct levels which demonstrate different features of blocks and combinations of blocks.

32 different block types
Every building is different, and we take this into account providing a feature list of building blocks that have different special abilities. Such as structural blocks that are only good at supporting vertical loads, or a weight block which will artificially stress a user creation.

Structural Stress Analyser
We know from experience its frustrating when your building falls down and you don't know why. We intend to include a mode where you can see structurally weak points before it breaks your building. This will allow for quick prototyping especially for people who are approaching the design with a more artistic approach.

Challenge Modes
We understand that competition is important, we plan to implement challenge objectives for all of our built in levels. Such as destroying a structure with a limited amount of weapons, or within a time frame. We also have plans to implement safe zones that you have to keep without destruction while bringing a building to the ground.

Explosives
Who doesn't like explosives in games? We plan to implement an explosive system where you can detonate explosives with time delays, giving users complete control on how a structure falls.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Currently the game consists of 4 distinct levels, and 4 block types. (And a partial level editor)
There is currently no in built level editor but this is high on our priorities to complete.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to increase the price of the game when we leave early access. Anyone who supports us during the development will be rewarded by obtaining the game at the reduced rate.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We are eager to include the community on ideas for future development, block types, level designs, core features that we have not thought of. We want to hear all of your ideas!”
