What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I am working on this game entirely on my own. I wanted to build a community for this game even before it is finished so that it can receive the important feedback it needs. I also want my community to be as directly involved with the game as possible so that the feedback they provide is firmly rooted in their experience with the game.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Hoping to finish this project by the end of 2018, but this depends on support, funds and polishing the experience. I am also working two other jobs so depending on their impact the release date may come later. It is already around 25% complete after a year that was full of lots of experimentation and trial-and-error and has resulted in a clear strategy for me to use where I can complete the rest of the game at a far higher rate.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“When the game is finished it will contain at least 9 levels total separate from the hubworld as well as a final level that is unlocked once the others have all been experienced. The full length of the game is targeted to be around 1 to 2 hours long.
I am also looking to add more interactive features throughout the existing content to make the worlds less static; for example, coconuts to kick around on the main island. There will also be more visual additions in areas of the game that currently may feel empty.
Additionally I am looking into support for more platforms, including VR. There will also be updates to the engine as time goes on as well as performance tweaks and bug fixing for any reported issues.
Finally things like Steam Achievements and cloud saves are to be added during development.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Currently there is the main hub, two complete levels, unlockable secrets and features, and a temporary ending (credits room).
This results in a round-about 30 minute experience with extra features to play around with even after you've finished, as well as the ability to replay all of the content as much as you like without creating a new file.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will increase when the game is complete as there is much more content to add to the experience. The final price will mainly depend on the length of the game.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“By actively interacting with them as frequently and on as many different platforms as possible. While I'm not overly skilled in social media usage, I will have a social media presence constantly updating the community on the progress with the game. I'm opening a Discord server too as well as paying close attention to the Steam Forums related to the game. Finally I will plan small online events and activities to involve my community in an enjoyable way.”

Metanoia Early Access Version 0.1.1a Patch Release!

Hello all!
Firstly I would like to thank everyone for the wonderful feedback and would like to announce that Metanoia has passed 100 sales! Really can't believe it and I'm so happy to see so many people enjoying the game especially in its early stage.

So, regarding today's patch, as a result of customer feedback, the following changes have been made:
-Hide cursor during gameplay (there was a bug where the cursor would remain in the centre of the screen).
-Better caps on settings (the maximum value for certain graphical settings are now much more practical as having it all the way to the top isn't unnecessary and very intensive).
-ADHD Knock Down game ball fix holding position (I couldn't replicate this but perhaps re-uploading has fixed the issue? I will await further feedback).
-ADHD better wording to help people understand what to do (Signs and UI are less vague and should keep more people from getting lost and confused).
-ADHD infinite jumping above tents.
-Depression wider platforms, more checkpoints throughout challenges (The floating platforms challenge and the crushers challenge now have an added checkpoint half way through).
-Set resolutions on Settings to what the monitor supports (No more unsupported resolutions in the resolutions dropdown menu).
-Intro pop-up resolutions removed (Launching the game from Steam now plays the game right away).

Metanoia Early Access Version 0.1.1 Patch!

Since the release of the Early Access 0.1 version I have been listening to your feedback and have made the following changes to the game.

-Added signs in the island to help you navigate to the levels (this may just be temporary since the island isn't finished yet and if the player misses the tutorial tour from the beach).
-Added a "Respawn" button in case the player gets stuck. It can be seen in the Control Mapper and can be activated via "0" on keyboard or left-centre button on a gamepad.

-Patched up area in rocks where you can get stuck.
-Unlockable credits portal functions properly now.

Thanks for the feedback!
