Why Early Access?

“We plan on gradually updating this tool in accordance with user feedback and suggestions. In its current state it can be used to create simple games, and so we decided to open it up to the public in order to receive and incorporate user feedback as early as possible.”

Approximately how long will this software be in Early Access?

“The official release is planned for sometime in 2018.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version will be compatible with Mac. We plan to improve the UI, Help, and Tutorial areas in order to provide users with the most comfortable and smooth experience possible. We also plan to add a wide variety of new functions and features, allowing for the creation of games not yet possible with the current build.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Platformer, top-down view action, and shooting games can be created with the current build. Approximately 80% of the planned functions and features work, and there are still some environment-dependent bugs and functions which require further adjustment.”

Will this software be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price may be increased after Early Access ends.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to gather feedback and suggestions from users in the Steam Community and constantly update the development road map based on this feedback. We hope to receive as much feedback and suggestions as possible in order to provide users with a Pixel Game Maker MV that can truly allow "anyone to create games easily" once the game is officially launched.”

Ver 0.8.3 Update(Open Beta)

The following bug fixes and updates are included in the Open Beta version.

As a new plug-in has been added, please give it a try and let us know if you encounter any issues with it!

With the release of Ver. 0.8.3 to Open Beta, Ver. 0.8.2 is also entering general release (see link below for notes).

Additions
  • Added "CrossXCarrot" local multiplayer battle project sample.
  • Added an RPG-style conversation scene plug-in; added a project sample for function confirmation.
  • Added “Hide on Object Action Change” to “Display Video” and “Display Image” options (Object "Other Runtime Actions").

Bug Fixes
  • Fixed bug causing options to be canceled early when the “Move Object” action triggered.
  • Fixed bug causing distance to be lower than the distance specified in “Move Object” action.
  • Fixed bug causing switches and variables to be carried over when using “Change Object” action, regardless of settings.
  • Fixed bug causing child objects to be generated in the wrong location for the “Generate Object” action.
  • Fixed bug in the “Ignore Wall Detection” setting for the “Template Movement Settings” action.
  • Fixed bug in camera range detection behavior when changing camera display range.

Ver 0.8.2 Update(Open Beta)

The following bug fixes and updates are included in the Open Beta version.

Bug Fixes
  • Fixed bug causing images to not be displayed when dividing images by project title size resulted in a fraction
  • Fixed bug in which locked player objects were not prioritized when moving templates
  • Fixed bug which caused crashes when setting a project's tile size to 8x8 and selecting the Animation tab
  • Fixed bug causing a crash when loading a project containing an empty folder in the Animation list
  • Fixed bug in which prevented the "Display Image" action from working when "Show on Foreground" is selected for "Position"
  • Fixed bug which was preventing object links from working
  • Fixed bug causing the Player to load twice when turning Physics Simulation ON
  • Fixed bug causing character coordinates to shift by one pixel when moving portals
  • Fixed bug with Y-axis directional detection for "Face-to-Face with Other Objects" condition
