Reviews Round-up and Updates

Hello everyone,

In case you missed it, Etherborn launched last week! Have you played it already? With the launch now behind us, we can take a bit of a breather and see what the reaction was (launch day is a crazy event - sooo many things going around. It was terrific and terrifying at the same time). One of the things we couldn’t stop doing was looking for and reading impressions and reviews of Etherborn. Your heart stops for that split second when you notice a new review pop up. Below are a few review quotes that we wanted to share with you.

“It’s a carefully directed, genuinely beautiful game well worth your time.”
- Rock Paper Shotgun

“Like a dream you can’t quite make sense of, but don’t want to end.”
- Kotaku

“The level design is simply magnificent and, above all, manages to surprise the player.”
- IGN España

"Etherborn is one of the most unique puzzles games I’ve had the pleasure of playing in recent years."
- Geek

“The real puzzle in Etherborn is the design of the levels. The use of gravity and twisting of the laws of physics as a way to solve everything in front of us is a fantastic element that works really well.”
- Hobby Consolas

We also wanted to let you know that we are working on a few patches and updates, making Etherborn just that bit better and cleaner. They will be popping up soon.

And lastly, we want to say a big thank you for your support. Seeing so many positive user reviews is humbling and satisfying. Thank you so much for the positive words. And please, if you have a moment, do leave a Steam review of our game. User reviews help in discoverability, and as an indie studio, we would love to get as much of it as possible. It helps us stay afloat.

Once again, thank you for all your support and we will speak soon!

Regards,

Carles and Michal | Altered Matter Team

Etherborn is Now Available to Download

Hello everyone,

So, the moment that we all at Altered Matter both looked forward to and feared has come. We can now proudly say, after all these years, those words that were on our mind from the moment we started work. Ladies and gentlemen, Etherborn is now available to play.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1L9H7A1d-pM

To coincide with the release, we also have a launch trailer - please pass it around your social feed or to anyone who is close to you. It would mean the world to us.

Now, we won’t be too sappy and emotional here, and we won’t take too much of your time either (there is a new game to play - let’s go!!!), but we just want to say a huge thank you to you for your encouragement, love, feedback, and support. Without good people around us, we wouldn’t have been able to do this crazy dream of ours. And if this is the first time you are hearing about us, here is a warm hello to you and I hope that Etherborn piqued your interest :)

And one last parting thought. We’ve made this game for you. So please, let us know what you think of Etherborn. We really do want to hear what your thoughts and impressions are.

Once again, thank you for your support and enjoy the world of Etherborn!

Regards,

Carles, Samuel, Alexandra, Gabriel, Miquel, Paul, Michal

About This Game

Etherborn is an elegant leap in the gravity-puzzle genre; an environmental puzzle platformer built on exploring and understanding gravity-shifting structures.

You are a voiceless being that has just been born into a world where a bodiless voice awaits your arrival. As your first thoughts emerge, you realise your journey has just begun. You must reach this ethereal voice to fully understand your own existence.

In this world, the laws of physics behave in a way that will bend your imagination. You experience gravity perpendicular to the surface you are standing on, allowing for creative exploration possibilities in environments carefully crafted as navigation-based puzzles.

Travel through beautiful and exotic sceneries where each level is an organic puzzle that you need to explore, manipulate and shift your gravity on in order to decipher the way forward.

Etherborn features:

  • Gravity-shifting platforming and exploration
  • Navigation based puzzles based on your unique sense of gravity
  • Surreal levels in an atmosphere inspired by artists of the 20th-21st centuries
