Why Early Access?

“When we think of The Dwarves of Glistenveld, we imagine a vibrant world with not only our campaign, but with many user-created maps, scenarios and modded content.

In order to realise this vision, we need to get players on board while the game develops, giving us feedback and inspiration. With the support of a community of gamers, we will be able to build the tech necessary to suit our players’ needs as we create TDoG together.

The Nysko team is a small clan working in their spare time and on their days off. We dream of the day we can give our team full-time employment so that we can build all the features and content we have in the pipeline, as well as the requested content from our community.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The game will be released in six 'Chapters', each of which will introduce new features that expand on existing content. These chapters will be free updates for those who have already bought the game. We estimate each chapter will take around 3-6 months’ work. However, this timescale may change as the requirements of each chapter become clearer and we gain feedback on what our players want to see.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“These are the additional features that we have planned for the full version:
· Complete 6-chapter Single-Player Campaign
· Modding Support
· Many New Enemies
· Many New Technologies

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current build features:

· Chapter 1 of the Campaign – play through a story-driven single-player campaign, as you help the dwarves drive out the goblins and take back their homeland!
· Scenarios – encounter a series of carefully designed, challenging levels.
· Map editor – create your own levels and share them on the Steam Workshop.
· Skirmish mode – choose from a range of specifications to generate your own maps.
· Mobbit Run – a mini-game where you play as a brave mobbit (an underground critter somewhere between a mole and a rabbit) stealing carrots from goblins.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“With the release of each chapter, we plan to fairly raise the price of the game as each new chapter will be packed full of fresh new content and features.

Because we value loyalty and want to get players engaged with the game, those who have already bought the game will receive subsequent chapters at no extra cost. We believe players should only have to pay once to receive the complete game.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Firstly there’s a convenient in-game feedback form, which allows players to send us feedback at any point during the game.

We also have an established mailing list for those interested in our progress and game updates. Alongside this you can check out our latest posts, news, events and fresh content via Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

We also release frequent blogs, giving people the opportunity to read about back office processes, team dynamics and to see how far we’ve come as a young indie games company. We also have an official Forum where you can chat to the team and other players about the game and your experiences.

About This Game

The Dwarves of Glistenveld is a 2.5D Real Time Strategy game with sandbox and RPG elements. Take control of a clan of Dwarves, as they mine, forage, build and fight to retake their homeland from a horde of greedy goblins. Will you unite and cooperate with the other dwarf clans? Or will you take control of a single clan and seek to gain power for yourself?

Story:


Goblins have invaded the land of Glistenveld and the dwarven city Glistenborg is besieged! Flanked on all sides and with their supplies cut off, the surviving dwarves have fled underground. Cut off and divided, the dwarves split into five clans, each with their own strategy to survive. Goblins are now searching the caverns and tunnels under the city to rid the land of all dwarves for good! Can you forge a new clan and unite the dwarves under one banner? Retake your homeland and drive out the goblin horde!

Personality
Every dwarf is unique, with a trait system and generated details that give each unit individual personalities, appearances and behaviours. Watch as your dwarves gain experience working a particular role and level up to gain new abilities!

Scenarios
Experience a series of carefully designed, challenging levels that are not part of the main campaign.

Skirmish Mode
Play through an almost infinite number of generated maps as you choose from a wide range of parameters to customize your own scenario.

Map Editor
Hand-craft and script your own levels and share them on the Steam Workshop.

Mini Games
In our first mini-game, Mobbit Run, you play as a brave mobbit (an underground critter somewhere between a mole and a rabbit) whose goal is to steal carrots from the goblins.
