What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We believe in catering to the playerbase and making adjustments to the game based off of feedback that we hear from our players. The game is still in development, and there are some questions that we have unanswered in terms of what makes the game fun that we are hoping to answer by making the game in an early access state.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan on being in Early Access for approximately 5-6 months, although this is subject to change pending development hiccups, player feedback, and playtest analysis.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We would like to add possibly up to 2 levels, and there has been much discussion about official dedicated server support.

Depending on how quickly development goes on that, if given the opportunity, we would also possibly have to consider reworking the characters pending player feedback.

We would like to have 8, pretty fun and balanced characters, and a couple more maps, as well as some of the UI and HUD art in. Again, this is all pending development and player feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game currently has 2 modes, 7 characters, some of which don't feel as fun as others, 2 playable maps, functional HUD and menu UI, as well as partying systems for p2p networking and gaming.

This means you can party with your friends.

One of your friends has to create game, then internet from the main menu. From there, players can join, regardless of whether or not they're on your friends list.

Game settings controls the map and the game mode that you will play. Only the host can have access to this and change it as necessary.

From there, the host can start the game, but only when everyone else has hit the ready up button from their in game menu.

Everyone can see who hasn't readied up.

The About This section also summarizes this as well.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“No.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Comments sections, feedback we receive from email, and playtest survey analysis.”

About This Game

Orbos is a 3rd person online multiplayer shooter with a focus on lite mechanics and quick matches.

Take control of a cute Mechanical Animal Companion Unit, often referred to as "Makus" or more commonly, "Orbos", because of their spherical shape. Play as one of 7 Orbos as they vie for dominance in up to 2 different arena style maps in one of 2 game modes.

Once built by technodruids for assisting research and harvesting a newly discovered crystal energy source, the forgotten robots now run amok in abandoned mines and outposts where resources are now dry.

Fast and frenetic, it's a fight to the finish to be the top bot.
