What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“There are a lot of improvements and additions we want to make to the game over time. Not all of these will be in the initial release but we plan to add them eventually. Some features of the game are still in an experimental stage and we would like to gather additional feedback from the community and improve the overall experience before the full release.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“About one year, this should give us enough time to get everything done.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The final version of this game will have more gameplay, weapons and anmials. The full version will also include 32 slots per server rather then it being co-op! We wil also be adding new maps such as; apartment map, a moon map and alot more!”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Fully playable co-op game with a unique that you never experienced before!

We will also include features like inventory system, crafting system, fully dynamic weather system, base building, passive animals, savings, pet system, farming and ofcourse a lot more!”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to gradually raise the price as we ship new content and features.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Players will be able to provide feedback both in reddit, forums and from within the game itself. This feedback will be reflected in updates provided on a regular basis.”

A quick update

Hello everyone! We're sorry for the lack of updates lately. But we've got some news for you now.

When we started development of Smalland, we had one developer doing the entire game in something called 'blueprint programming' in Unreal Engine. The problem with this type of programming is that it's incompatible with most PC and multiplayer programs out there. On January 25th, we announced that we were bringing in a few developers. We quickly decided it'd be a good idea to start the game from scratch, this time using C++ programming. C++ is ten times faster than blueprint, and will allow us to deliver the survival experience you all deserve! With this new programming language, the performance will be more efficient, the multiplayer servers will now have over sixty player slots, and additionally, this means that you'll be able to look forward to new exciting features and updates in the coming months.

For the past three months, we've been working on the skeleton of our game. Most of it is non-visual stuff, but we're also working on things like animations, models, and level design! As a sneak peek, here's a look at our working UI model:

We'll have some more exciting stuff for everyone to see next month. We're all working really hard to make SMALLAND a reality, and we appreciate your patience and support. Thank you!

About This Game

Suddenly you have been shrunk.

Mysteriously, you have been exposed to a very familiar, but largely different world. What has happened to you? Are there other victims, or are you alone in your tiny plight? There are so many questions that need answering - but don't worry about that right now...that squirrel is looking pretty hungry.

With SMALLAND, the survival genre gets a tinier take that lets you appreciate the little things. Or flee in terror of the little things. The slightest breeze can sweep your items or even your house away from you. The simplest rainfall can form puddles the size of lakes in a matter of minutes.

There's an adventure out there waiting for you when you're small - a new world full of challenges to conquer and ecosystems to explore. Though take care, for this world is as dangerous as it is amazing. You'll need to keep your wits about you and craft tools to keep yourself alive in this new world. But with the help of your friends, you don't have to do it alone.

Key Features

If simply experiencing the world from a new perspective is what you want, you can admire a breathtaking sunset or experience the beauty of nature from an all-new perspective in peaceful mode.

Being this small opens up brand new places you could never dream of going at your normal height. Protip: don't go into the sewer when it's raining.

The world of nature is about the struggle of survival. At this size you are no longer above this struggle. Every animal in this ecosystem is trying to get from day to day, and it does not matter to them if you do anything or not. Ants take food for their colony, cats hunt mice, life goes on.

A problem we've seen in a lot of survival games is that there isn't enough symbiotic interaction with the world. It could rain for days, and it doesn't affect much more than your mood.

But at this miniscule size, involved interaction with the world around you is all but unavoidable. You can't ignore rain or snow anymore.

In SMALLAND, the little things make all the difference.
