Why Early Access?

“Rise of Legions will be in Early Access on Steam in order to get in touch with players as soon as possible. We plan to implement a lot more meta game features in the next stage of developing Rise of Legions. During this process we want to enable our community to actively take part in shaping the future of Rise of Legions.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan to go full Release as soon as the core features are polished and the meta game is finished. This will approximately be at the end of 2018.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“For the full version we plan to have an additional Legion (Robots! exciting...i know :) everybody loves them) We plan to have an experience system for all cards, which should unlock new abilities as you level them up. We also plan to further develop the PvE experience. Last but not least, new cards will be added to the game on a regular basis.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“For now we are feature-complete regarding the core game. We are heavily focusing on bugfixing and polish. Everything is up and running but might be a bit rough around the edges at first. We apologize for that. The meta game is currently a boiled down version of the original concept, as we plan to add a lot more features to it. Most important among these will be an experience system for the cards, and unlocking new abilities for the units as you level them up. All of the features listed in the "about" section are implemented.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“As soon as we go full release, founder packs won't be available anymore. Players will keep all of their unlocked content throughout the lifecycle of Rise of Legions, but many of the meta game features might change drastically towards full release (e.g. Card experience / leveling).
We don't plan to change the pricing.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Involving the community is of upmost importance to us. For now we are monitoring player feedback and improvement suggestions through our Steam forum as well as our facebook page.
In the near future we plan to release 3 different concepts for a possible future Legion. The community will decide which one we actually develope and will play a big part in that Legion's design and decision making.

Update on our next steps!

The closed beta will come to an end today at 5pm CEST. It has been a blast for us so far! We received a lot of valuable feedback and insights from the community, which we will use to make Rise of Legions even better! Thank you so much to everyone that participated!
We will be hosting another week-long closed beta around the beginning of October. We will also announce the Early Access Release Date pretty... erm, soon xD (soon, actually).


Here's an update on our next steps:

From now to early access:
- There will be a guided tutorial! Yes, finally.
- The starter deck decision in the beginning of the game will be removed. Instead, all starter deck cards are going to be unlocked. The tutorial will be played with the White Legion.
- There will be default decks for new players (created from the starter-deck card pool). These will allow to instantly get into the action, without the necessity to build a deck.
- The ascension system will be reworked. We already have a good idea on how we want to change this but we don't want to spoil too much in case it doesn't work out and we decide to go into a different direction.
- We are working on an experimental feature for the core game experience. It might not make it into the release version so we don't really want to talk about it too much but... If all goes well, expect a positive and explosive impact on the gameplay experience! This is the one change that is getting us the most excited internally so we really hope it passes implementation and also the next few tests we have for it and then we will let you guys know all about it (:
- There might be a premium account for the early access version that provides an xp- and currency-boost over a set timespan.
- We want to add 5 levels to every PvE difficulty. There will also be a progression through these levels so you can't just choose any difficulty from the beginning, you have to unlock them. (The highest difficulty will have some visual adjustments as well)
- We are always adjusting balance, progression and rewards along the way based on all the great feedback we receive, and also from the secret data that our voodoo hamsters are gathering directly from the database!
- We will of course finalize the special closed beta Rewards.
- Most profiles and deck icons will be locked in the beginning. You will be able to unlock some of them throughout the new and revamped progression.
- The way spawners spawn units will visually be adjusted to make it more intuitive.
- There is quite a long list of quality-of-life improvements and things to polish in general. All of this needs to happen, but we need to focus on the core systems first before we start on that sweet polish.
As most of you might know by now we are a very small team and only have a limited amount of time. Because of that some of our plans are always subject to change. We're always doing our best to deliver though! (:

Last but not least, a BIG thanks goes out to all of you who participated in the betas so far! It's super exciting for us to see how you guys experience the game. We are more than happy to have you :heart:

The White Legion
"Command sacred archers and shiny knights accompanied by angelic forces. Raise your shields and stand strong!"

The White Legion's main gameplay mechanics and combos feature a variety of healing and shielding spells that can be targeted at multiple units at once. Overwhelm your opponent with masses of archers and knights and make them survive to the last minute in order to turn the tide of battle.



The Green Legion
"Lead an army of vivid plants and ancient trees into battle. Root your enemies and drown them in a flood of saplings. Evolve them to become stronger."

The Green Legion's main gameplay mechanics and combos feature a variety of heal-over-time effects, rooting your enemies in place and last but not least, hordes of Saplings that can be evolved into powerful creatures.



The Black Legion
"Freeze your enemies and drain their life. Creatures from the void gather souls to unleash sinister abilities upon their foes."

The Black Legion's main gameplay mechanics and combos feature a variety of freezing spells and abilities, as well as ripping out the souls of enemy units in order to trigger powerful passive abilities.
