Was die Entwickler zu sagen haben:

Wozu Early Access?

“Mechanic Miner has been in development for quite some time and after 4 years of development including 1.5 years of alpha testing, we feel like the game meets the polish and standards for what an Early Access game should be. The development of Mechanic Miner is heavily directed by our community’s feedback and suggestions, releasing Mechanic Miner into Early Access will allow us to expand our community while providing us with the resources and feedback needed to further develop the game in a direction desired by our community.”

Wie lange wird dieses Spiel ungefähr den Early Access-Status haben?

“We do not have a set date or range for this, but we expect to use roughly a year in Early Access. Mechanic Miner is that type of game where it’s possible to add an almost endless amount of content (resources, parts, blocks, weapons, enemies, biomes, bosses, etc.) and we wish to add much more before leaving Early Access. Furthermore, we wish to keep on adding content to Mechanic Miner even after Full Release.”

Wie soll sich die Vollversion von der Early Access-Version unterscheiden?

“Because of the endless possibilities, it’s hard to define what a “Full version” of Mechanic Miner would be. The full version of Mechanic Miner is planned to have more content in form of resources, parts blocks, weapons, enemies, biomes, bosses and so on… but how much more is hard to say. What we know is, that we want to add the following on/or before Full release:
  • A complete Story Mode (Currently has 1 act)
  • A non-beta version of Multiplayer
  • Mod-support
We plan to add content regularly during the Early Access, but as mentioned before we also wish to keep adding content after Early Access.”

Was ist der derzeitige Stand der Early Access-Version?

“The current version of Mechanic Miner has 3 different modes with over 50 different parts/blocks for you to construct with, over 30 different resources for you find, and 20 enemies including a boss for you to fight. The Story Mode currently has 1 act were the player will experience the first part of our protagonist inventor Johns adventure. Survival Mode offers a more challenging experience where the player chooses his or her own path. Creative Mode allows the player endless hours of designing and constructing crazy contraptions. Furthermore, it’s possible for you to share and find contraptions for you to play with through the Steam Workshop. The Early Access of Mechanic Miner also has a beta version of Multiplayer which supports 2-3 players with Creative and Survival Mode unlocked.”

Wird dieses Spiel während und nach Early Access unterschiedlich viel kosten?

“We plan to raise the price as more content is added. This doesn’t mean we’ll raise the price every time we add a new part or an enemy, but rather in stages when significantly more content has been added.”

Wie werden Sie versuchen die Community in den Entwicklungsprozess miteinzubeziehen?

“As mentioned before, the development of Mechanic Miner is strongly lead by the feedback and suggestions from our community, and we plan to keep it that way! We have a strong and active Discord where we – the developers – gather feedback on a daily basis and engage with our community. We also have a forum and sub-reddit for those who wish to provide feedback through other channels.”

Hotfix v.0.5.2c (10.07.2019)

We just released a hotfix with some new bug-fixes and some... old bug-fixes. Unfortunately, we realised that we made a mistake with some of the patches/hotfixes that went live during early/mid June in which we accidently introduced some of the older bugs that were already fixed. Fortunately, we already did the fixes, so in this hotfix we are reimplementing the fixes that we already made. Thus, you might see some of the same bug-fixes in this hotfix:

• Re-added the frog leaders landing sound occurring in the small cutscene in the tutorial.
• Re-added the more visible flashing effect to cable and belt appearing when the player is told to place cable or belt in the tutorial.
• There is now always the same amount of Copper and Zinc on the ceiling and floor in the Marsh Mines.
• Fixed a crash sometimes occurring when loading machines while being in and old save games.
• Fixed a crash sometimes occurring when restoring your vehicle at Hologram John
• Fixed a crash sometimes occurring some time after deconstructing a Bomb.
• Fixed a crash occurring when placing a blueprint with a foundation and a crossjoint-connection.
• Fixed a crash occurring when copying currently lifted parts.
• Fixed a crash occurring when a block failed to lift itself out of terrain after being placed while being the last one in the stack.
• Fixed a crash occurring when trying to place connectors on wheels when no background blocks are nearby.
• Fixed a bug where textures sometimes would not load.
• Fixed a bug where the Demin Interceptor did not respawn if despawned during the Discovery Quest in Story Mode.
• Fixed a bug where deleting a storage container with mob-eggs (console spawned mobs) would not return the mob-eggs to the players inventory.
• Fixed a bug where the player did not always get all the resources back in the storage container when deleting it.
• Fixed a bug where machines would despawn when entering/exiting portals
• Fixed a bug where the game could not load empty Deep Cave maps.
• Fixed a bug where players who had installed Mechanic Miner in a folder-path that contained Russian characters, would crash when converting their game from Story Mode to Survival Mode upon completing Act 1.
• Fixed the Dwellers Charge attack damage.
• Fixed the Dwellers Charge attack sound which were incorrect.

Hotfix v.0.5.2b (03.07.2019)

We just released a hotfix. This hotfix is aimed towards the players who were not able to launch the game at all – if you were one of those players, you might have to reinstall Mechanic Miner for the hotfix to work. Thanks to all of you who provided us with their log-files which lead to the fix. The hotfix also contains a lot of other crash/bug fixes and the changes that were made in the experimental patch.

• You can now control Twitch-integration options in the settings-menu. (From experimental branch)
• You can now connect your Twitch URL through the settings-menu. (From experimental branch)
• Twitch-integration option (old): Apply random viewer names to in-game mobs. (From experimental branch)
• Twitch-integration option (new): Allow a viewer with a name-given mob to chat through the in-game mob. (From experimental branch)
• Enabled glewExperimental in the openGL library. (From experimental branch)
• Fixed a bug causing the game to be unable to launch if the player had non-English characters in their folder path to the game.
• Fixed a random crash that sometimes occurred if there was a piston in the world.
• Fixed a crash that sometimes occurred when having a blueprint hovering on the cursor.
• Fixed some issues with picking up items from the inventory using both hotkeys and the cursor, this also could cause the game to crash.
• Fixed a crash occurring if you manually closed the game not using the in-game quit button.
• Fixed a crash occurring if the game was trying to load a corrupted save game.
• Fixed a crash occurring if a part, which the player previously was trying to fuse, but failed to do so because of player movement, was deleted by the player.
• Fixed a crash occurring if a machine with tubes got split while it was lifting itself away from ground collision.
• Fixed a crash occurring if the player would hover above blocks with wheels in front/behind while having the copy-tool active.
• Fixed a bug causing the game to be unable to launch if the player had non-English characters in their folder path to the game.
• Fixed the exe-icon so it is now the correct one again.
• Fixed the timeout for the news section in the menu so it will not get stuck if it could not receive the news.
• Fixed a bug where the initial position of a blueprint on the cursor would be wrong just after picking it up from the inventory.
• Fixed a bug where you would not get resources from the blueprints that was in a container when it was deleted.
• Fixed a bug where you could create an everlasting floating block by gently touching a grapple locked block with a grapple lifted block.

Über dieses Spiel

Mechanic Miner is a construction and survival game where you build mechanical steam-powered machines in a physics based sandbox. Gather resources, kill monsters, acquire new technologies and use your imagination to build crazy mechanical devices to conquer any challenges in your way.

In Mechanic Miner you can design and construct any kind of machine! Build a catapult, a submarine, a battle tank or a air balloon - all simulated through the physics engine

Mechanic Miner has over 50 different parts and building blocks for you to play around with, and we’re constantly adding more. You can also share your designs with your friends through the Steam Workshop!

Get creative, get better, build more advanced stuff and become a mechanical mastermind to conquer any challenges that may lie ahead.

In story mode you’re stranded on a strange and treacherous planet, where survival is made difficult by hostile animals and plant life. You did bring a multitool from your home planet, which is able to craft any kind of machine part - provided of course that the right raw material has been found. Relying solely on the technology you brought, you set out to explore this new and unkown world. But the road isn't paved with ease. The surroundings of your new home will threaten and challenge you! You will face waves of monsters and fight unrelenting bosses that show no mercy. To survive and advance the storyline you must acquire the necessary steam-powered technology, that will allow you to delve deeper into the diverse biomes of the planet, and perhaps, ultimately, lead you to your escape.

In creative mode you can let your inner mechanic shine. You can create anything! With unlimited resources at your disposal, immortality and the ability to fly - the only limit is your imagination! Creative mode is great for those who just want to let their creativity flow without limitations, and with the blueprinting tool you can easily make a copy of your contraptions and use them in story or survival mode, if you have the resources for it.

In survival mode you can follow your own path. Start with nothing and explore, gather, research, construct and fight for your survival. Survival mode offers a challenge for advanced players - you will have to use your wit and imagination to create contraptions to withstand the harsh environment, aggressive enemies and devastating Aether Storms that wreak havoc over the planet.

  • Explore a randomly generated sandbox with the option of following the story or creating without limits.
  • Mine the planet for a variety of useful resources to help you construct your own unique mechanical steam-powered machines and devices. The only limit is your imagination!
  • The physics engine powers Mechanical Miner's sandbox and will test your contraptions ability to navigate the harsh terrain.
  • Use your mechanical constructions to fight and defend you and your base from terrible monsters and bosses, will you survive?
  • Create blueprints of your mechanical constructions, use them later in Story or Survival modes, or share them with friends on Steam Workshop and prove who the real mechanical mastermind is.
  • Acquire new technologies and expand your base and building capabilities as you gain experience with the level-based progression system.

Mechanic Miner is still in development and there is so much more to come:

  • Mod-support
  • Full version Multiplayer (currently in beta)
