Update 1.0.6 Patch Notes


With this update we’ve fixed quite a few of the most commonly reported crash causes. Since some of these issues are highly hardware/setup dependant, please make sure to keep pressing “send” on the Unreal crash popup, so we can continue fixing these. Also, these crashes could lead to progress loss, so we’ve added extra safeguards to keep your progress.

  • Fixed an issue in "Open Season" that could prevent progression if a player died with a fuel can in their possession
  • Fixed an issue with an optional objective marker in "Open Season" not disappearing when the players progressed past it
  • Fixed an issue where players could climb a vehicle to travel out of bounds in "Open Season"
  • Fixed an issue on "Open Season" where a shotgun trap would sometimes hover
  • Fixed an issue on "Open Season" where drop-in clients could vault past the red barrier and get out of bounds
  • Fixed and issue on "Open Season" where the objective marker on the shutters would sometimes fail to update
  • Fixed an issue where the key could spawn outside of player reach on "Join or Die"
  • Fixed a teleportation loop that could occur in "Last Stop"

  • Fixed an issue that could cause toolkit salvages/dismantles to not grant any resources, or planks to not properly apply to doors
  • Fixed an issue where players could continue interactions after being teleported
  • Fixed an issue where client players would be unable to collect lore items if the host already had them

Update 1.0.5 Patch Notes


A new week a new patch! We hope you all had a good weekend laying waste to your enemies and all that. On our end, we keep working on the issues you are reporting, and preparing the first Episode for Season 2 at the end of the month. Also, we are amazed to see that on Sunday we were up to 14,375 concurrent players, amazing!

  • Fixed an issue where players who join a friend to play “Home Sweet Home” without the quest are incorrectly given access to Reina
  • Fixed an issue on “Last Stop” causing walkers to try attacking the hosts in spectator mode, often leading to a crash
  • Fixed an issue where clients joining mid-game on “Last Stop” wouldn’t be able to access one of the alternate paths that can open up randomly in the level
  • Fixed an issue with respawn locations for solo players when preparing to extract from a Founder’s Square Expedition level
  • Fixed an issue where players would see already open gates as closed for a split second when they joined a game in progress on “The First Shot”

  • Fixed an issue where human enemies would stop acting properly if spotting a dead ally and a player at the same time
  • Fixed an issue where the human AI would miscalculate their accuracy if the host had low FPS, causing them to have better accuracy than intended

  • Fixed crash that can occur if clients with high packet loss fire their weapons very soon after spawning
  • Fixed an issue causing players to wrongly see the extraction marker before items are secured

  • Fixed an issue where clients would get downed but still appear as alive to other players
  • Fixed an issue where the Horde-o-meter would start filling before the players loaded into the Weekly Mission
  • Fixed an issue which caused players to wrongly see a downed player as standing while in downed state

  • Added extra security checks, protecting save games against corruption
  • Added a popup to clients if a mission was finished while they were loading mid-game
  • Fixed an issue where sometimes the “teleportation” countdown would start at 00:00 instead of 00:04
  • Fixed an issue with damage numbers not displaying properly when comparing two weapons of the same type and different power levels

OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead is an action-filled four-player co-op multiplayer first-person shooter set in Washington, D.C. after an outbreak brought the dead back to life. In this test of skill, strategy and teamwork players will band together with up to three friends on a variety of missions, securing supplies as well as survivors to strengthen their camp against the threat of both the dead and the living - by any means necessary.

A New Story Within the World of The Walking Dead. In OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead, players are introduced to Aidan, Maya, Grant and Heather; four people brought together by necessity and the willingness to do whatever it takes to stay alive in a post-apocalyptic world. Welcome to the Wasteland of Washington D.C. Explore the capital after the outbreak, and discover what happened. Journey through the districts of the desolate city, and search lost neighborhoods such as Georgetown for loot, supplies and other survivors. Tread lightly, as any noise can be heard by both the dead and the living, and any mistake runs the risk of attracting a horde of walkers.

Improvise, Adapt, Overcome. In a world where everything has stopped working, players will have to make do with what they find. The post-apocalyptic world of The Walking Dead is a harsh place to live in, let alone find things that work. As players loot the city for supplies, they will come to understand that weapons and ammunition are scarce and their condition vary. If not maintained, guns will jam as you pull the trigger, silencers will break, and old sights will challenge your skills as you take aim.

Home Is Where Your Camp Is. You won’t always have to go looking for trouble, it will also find you. Defend your camp against roaming hordes of walkers when they lock on to your camp. Strengthen your defenses, and take on waves of walkers while keeping the other camp members safe.

Think. Fight. Live. Each playable character comes with a unique skill tree, squad role, play style and background story. They all share a common objective, where survival and teamwork is paramount. The action is up-close and intense: take out enemies carefully with silent melee attacks, or go in guns blazing. You need to be able to improvise, as nothing is certain and a horde of walkers will always be right around the corner.
