New Unit, The Musketeer!

Hello everyone!

It has been a while since the last update, but here is a new unit, The Musketeer. Comes with a musket equipped with a bayonet. If enemy units get close enough, he will charge towards them with his bayonet. This is my first attempt at implementing a melee unit, so there are still some things that need to be improved. I am open to any suggestions you may have regarding this unit, or anything else.

I have also fixed a few bugs, but there are still some that need fixing. There is a new section in the forum for bug reports, you can use that to report any bugs you encounter.

I have been working on a new game mode for the game. It will be called Conquest Mode. It is similar to games like Mount & Blade and Total War. There will be a grand map, with several factions. The factions will control forts, train units, battle each other, take over forts and territories. You control one of the factions, and the goal is to conquer the entire map. When your units encounter enemy units, you will go into Battle Mode, which is basically what you have now where you place your units, and watch them battle the enemy.

This game mode is still a work in progress, and should be ready in about 2 months or so. I think it will add more content to the game, and add some context to the battles.

For now that is all, I hope to have another melee unit implemented in the future, with a wider range of attacks.

New unit, Rocket Artillery!

Hello everyone!

In this update I am introducing a new unit, the Rocket Artillery! It fires 5 rockets at a target, followed by a long reload. It has low accuracy, and low health, but deals lots of damage, and a high cost.

I've added difficulty levels to the Turf Wars game mode. It starts off fairly easy, and and should build up in difficulty. I might need to balance it a little bit.

I've also added 3 new missions to utilize all the new units.

I've made several bug fixes in this update as well.

In the next update I will try to tackle a bug that was in the game from the very beginning. It is when your units won't attack if their target is too high or too low relative to them. This has to do with the animations, so I would need to add some more animations allowing units to aim up/down.

People have been suggesting units with melee abilities. I want to start working on these types of units next. I will see how it goes, and hopefully, the next unit will have a melee attack!

About This Game



Wooden Conflict is a fort building battle sim. You build a wooden fort, place units, and then watch the battle unfold. To win the game you either have to destroy all of your opponent's units, or capture their flag. Units can be toggled as either "offensive" or "defensive." When units are designated for offense, they will move towards the enemy flag, engaging any enemy soldiers they encounter along the way. Units designated for defense will stay where you place them, waiting for the enemies to come to them. If there are no more offensive units left on the map, the game enters a tie breaker procedure, where all defensive units are automatically switched to offensive mode, and all forts/blocks disappear to clear the way for the soldiers. The armies from both sides will march towards each other and engage in an epic showdown. Last army standing wins.



Missions:

Missions involve different scenarios against the AI opponent. The objective is to defeat the enemy using a limited amount of resources. Strategic construction of the base, and choice of units is crucial. Carefully planning and executing your strategy is the only way to victory.

Challenges:

There are nine challenges in the game, three for Rifleman, Musketoon, and Sniper. For the Rifleman challenge you are only allowed to use Riflemen, same goes for Sniper and Musketoon challenges. The objective of the challenge is to only use the available units to defeat the enemy. Completing the challenges will unlock new weapons for your units. You can select the weapons from the Armory tab in the main menu.

Wave Survival:

In Wave Survival, you are pitted against endless waves of enemies. You get more resources and face more enemies with each subsequent wave.

Sandbox Mode:

Sandbox mode allows the player to place a large number of units and build up bases for both teams. The player can use this mode to mess around with different units and experiment with different strategies.



The game currently has five units: Rifleman, Cannon, Sniper, Musketoon, and Medic. Each unit is designed to fill a specific role on the battlefield and making smart unit choices is key to a well balanced army. The infantry units come with several weapon options which have varying stats such as accuracy, damage, and rate of fire.
