What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Since the beginning of our project we have been perceiving 303 Squadron: Battle of Britain primarily as a game, but also as a tribute to the great people, real heroes of the war. As such, we want the game to present the highest quality. During the Kickstarter campaign we have managed to create a unique bond with the Community. Similarly to the realities of the military units – we want to work closely with people who trusted us, in this case our fans and supporters. While developing the game in the Early access version, we hope to improve the game over the time, inspired by the invaluable suggestions of our community.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The game will remain in Early Access for approximately 4 months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We hope to include in the final version much more features in the RAF Northolt Base and the new, additional interactions which will allow the players to fully and realistically experience the life of a pilot during the war in the military base. Together, with the increase level of interaction on the airport, we would like to introduce more detailed Plane Mechanic mode, enabling more advanced operations around the planes.

Additional elements we wish to include in the final version:

- new Spitfire plane, available during the customised missions
- new plane mechanic mode dedicated to the Spitfire Plane
- customised missions (the player can configure the missions’ conditions and requirements )
- an option to play the completed missions one more time
- various camera views during the mission
- differentiation of the difficultness level related to the gameplay balance
- animations of the secondary characters
- graphics and UI upgrade
- Additional map-based missions
- additional mini games in the RAF Northolt Base
- visual modification of the planes – nose arts, various graphical extras
- bike-based challenges”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current Early Access version is a full game that can be played from the beginning to the end of the main storyline, however some functionalities, features and interactions are not yet available. The size of the accessible area in RAF Northolt station is also reduced, comparing to the planned, final version.

To name the most important features, the Early Access version includes:

- Physics-based planes navigation and control
- Two mission modes: Arcade and Realistic
- Realistic RAF Northolt Base, partially available to explore
- Air missions based on the actual calendar of the 303 Squadron during the Battle of Britain
- Kill cam with X-ray effect
- Bike, enabling quicker movement around the base
- Plane Mechanic mode that allows to modify and tweak the planes”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“During the Early Access we won’t change the price of our game, however, once the Full Version will be released, we consider increasing the price.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“First and foremost, the enthusiastic reception of our Community is the thing that drives us. Their support is the second very important thing, especially due to the fact that so many members of it are aviation enthusiasts with a great passion, knowledge and dedication to the game's topic. Therefore, we would highly appreciated all of their feedback that may allow us to improve the realism of the game in every possible way – from the visual aspects to the navigation and game mechanics.”
