Ryan Laukat推出的八分钟帝国是一款快速棋盘游戏，游戏的文明/探索主题使用纸牌进行区域控制。

玩八分钟帝国时，2-5名玩家轮流从显示的六张牌中选一张。这张牌为玩家提供了一个资源，还有一个玩家要立即采取的动作。动作帮助玩家接管地图，但在游戏结束时收集的资源是等于积分的，所以玩家须平衡这两个方面。玩家纵横地图，是为了在游戏结束时控制大部分区域和大陆来集分。
