Dlaczego wczesny dostęp?

“We have been developing Spire of Sorcery since 2017. By now, we’ve reached the point where we’re ready to invite a broader player community to join us in shaping the future of this game.

Our ambition is to create a strategy survival game that is highly moddable. Building such a game requires a ton of discussions within the community as well as a lot of experiments with the actual game – and we believe that Early Access is the best place to carry these out.

We used the same approach with our previous game (Gremlins, Inc.) that went through six months of Early Access on Steam a few years back, so we’re familiar with the process.”

“We expect that Spire of Sorcery will remain in Early Access at least until late 2020, and maybe longer if we decide to pursue certain features that take significant time to build.”

“Our vision for Spire of Sorcery is to give players a game where they can:

1. Explore a large original dangerous world full of events.
2. Reach goals through a combination of magic, alchemy and artificing.
3. Develop characters and manage them considering their stats, skills, traits and interests.

During the Early Access period, we work on improving each of these aspects further. However, this is a pretty broad scope and we cannot predict the exact content and features that will remain in the game by the time when we decide to transition into the full release.

If you consider purchasing this game based on a specific piece of content or a specific feature, then we cannot guarantee that it will remain in the final game. During development of this project, we already took things out of the game when the overall player experience improved by removing certain items, and we expect to keep this approach in the future. Sometimes an idea that some of us like needs to go away to make way for a better idea or when we realize that it doesn’t really work as well as intended.”

Jaki jest obecny stan wersji z wczesnego dostępu?

“As of late 2019, both the world and the character generation as well as the RPG system, spellcasting, alchemy, artificing, exploration, teaching, research and healing systems are functional and are improved with every revision.

The game as it currently stands has a fair amount of early-game content, but some of the mid-game and almost all of the late-game content is still lacking. Additionally, some content that we’ve designed and developed is still missing from the game. For details, please check the Roadmap topic on the forums.

The builds that we release on the main branch on Steam are mostly stable, but sometimes can produce game-breaking bugs (both technical and interface-related). While we do our best to correct these with hot fixes and new updates, we cannot yet guarantee a bug-free experience. Some updates may make earlier saved games incompatible, especially when we introduce new mechanics or new game systems.”

“We expect to increase the price of the game once it accumulates more content and features. Depending on the development progress, it may happen already during the Early Access period or at the time of the game’s transition into full release.”

“Since early 2019, in addition to Steam forums we have run both a dedicated game forum and a dedicated Discord server that features English as well as Japanese, Russian, Korean and Simplified Chinese language channels where we share work in progress in real-time, discuss community feedback and our plans for new content and new features.

Every Wednesday, we broadcast developer streams (in English) where we summarize the changes in the game made in the past week as well as respond to community questions.

We frequently update the beta branch of the game on Steam for those players who enjoy trying the very latest version of the project. And once every few weeks, we update the main branch with thematic updates that introduce new content and new features as well as re-balance existing mechanics.”

The world of Rund lies in ruins. Almost entirely destroyed by the wars of arch-mages, it is now making the first steps towards its eventual recovery. The Emperor, with his First Legion, has driven all the surviving non-human dwellers deep into the east, towards the uninhabitable Distorted Lands. Meanwhile the Inquisition, governed by the Council of Fathers, watches over those who possess magic powers, confining them to the offices of the Guild of Mages.

There's a growing discomfort among the townsfolk about the risks of keeping these mages alive, even if they are locked away. There are rumours among the mages at the Guild, hinting that they soon might be all exterminated...

One mage with a group of friends escapes into the Wild Lands, looking for a way to save their lives and to grow their powers. Perhaps they will seek revenge. Perhaps they will look for a way to heal the land that may still slip into the Chaos. Whatever their ambition, first of all they must survive – against the hatred of the Empire, against the threats of the Inquisition, and against the challenges of the Wild Lands and its dwellers.

We're developing an original strategy survival game with indirect control, with the additional aim of making it highly moddable. Our vision for Spire of Sorcery is that of a game where multiple simple character and world mechanics combine into a unique game experience, making the game replayable through different approaches.

  • Explore the world full of dangerous events; survive encounters with animals, human and non-human parties, deal with diseases, injuries and poisons.
  • Develop and manage your disciples taking into account their character stats, skills, traits and interests; equip parties, assign them with tasks and send them out on quests.
  • Reach your goals by combining the effects of magic, alchemy and artificing; cast spells, cook food, concoct substances, research new knowledge, craft weapons and equipment.

Spire of Sorcery is currently in the period of Limited Early Access. We expect that the game will enter the general Early Access period around Q1 2020.
