Update 1.1.1 - New name, Trading Cards, Custom Game mode and more!

Don't Escape: 4 Days to Survive
Hey everyone! Thank you so much to everyone who has played and reviewed the game so far. We're overwhelmed by all the support. Today we have a fairly substantial update for the game. The first and perhaps the most obvious is the name change. Going forward, the game is now known as Don't Escape: 4 Days to Survive. You can read more about the reasoning behind it here.

Additionally, we have a number of improvements, changes and fixes for you!
  • Custom Game mode: select threats and other circumstances for each day. Unlocked after achieving a Good Ending in the Awakening mode
  • Added more delay between random NPC dialogues. Also, those dialogues should not occur immediately after a normal dialogue just took place.
  • Improved readability of some of the pixelated font characters.
  • Bugs related to the security door in one of Day 4 locations have been fixed.
  • Other bug fixes

Last but not least, Steam Trading Cards!
Steam Trading Cards are finally here, together with profile badges, background images and chat emoticons for you to collect!

Over and out!
Once again thank you for your ongoing support: all the warm words, nice reviews and bug reports.
All the new glitches that you report will be as usual fixed in the updates to follow. Stay tuned!

Update 1.0.4 - a bunch of small fixes!

In version 1.0.4 we have addressed a number of text errors and graphical glitches.
Thanks to everyone who has reported bugs on forums, via email etc.

Here's a quick summary of the most important changes:

  • Fixed the most common text glitch concerning Day 3 results screen, poison and Cody.
  • Added a missing [Drop item to set up] to a couple of items (Powered gas heater, activated Heat Absorber)
  • Movement speed (animations) of locust and spiders have been adjusted.
  • Several instances of dialogues had mismatched lines. This has been corrected.
  • Random dialogues between NPCs were occurring a bit too often. A delay between them has been slightly increased.
  • Music during the final sequence was not looping. That has been fixed.
  • The game would restart if there was no end-day autosave and your time run out. Now if there is no end-day autosave yet, the most recent autosave will be loaded instead.
  • Day 4 Death screens were mixed up.
  • On the Construction Site, some of the background elements were visually unaffected by the sunset.
  • Other small glitches
  • A typo here and there

Please continue to let us know when you encounter bugs and we'll fix them ASAP! Thanks to everyone who has supported us so far... your comments and reviews mean a lot!

“I have not really felt so involved in a game for a long time, and the combination of survival elements with point-and-click adventures works perfectly.”

About This Game

Following a bizarre cataclysmic event that cracked the moon in half, the Earth is struggling with the environmental fallout. Everything is already dead or dying... except you. Or so you think. Don't Escape: 4 Days to Survive is a post-apocalyptic thriller from veteran developer Scriptwelder, creator of the popular horror series Deep Sleep and Don't Escape. Players must figure out a way to properly fortify their home against each night's new danger, as they learn the truth behind the apocalypse and search for a way to safety, if one exists.

Players will journey alongside David, a lone survivor after the end of the world, who finds himself having prophetic dreams... or nightmares. Each chapter of the game has multiple potential variations to encounter, from poisonous fog or spiders to a gang of murderous thugs or a deadly heat wave, and as a result, you'll need to adjust your strategy on different playthroughs. But you don't have forever. Certain actions advance the in-game clock, and you'll need to complete your preparations to (hopefully) stay alive before night falls.

Will you make it through all four days? Will your companions?

  • A classic pixelart aesthetic and creepy atmosphere from a veteran of horror and thrillers.
  • Logical puzzles and exploration to challenge players without frustrating them.
  • Time mechanics; certain actions advance the clock in a race against time.
  • A post-apocalyptic thriller, with an engaging storyline and cast.
  • Moody and engrossing original musicial score.
  • Multiple variations for each chapter mean multiple playthroughs with new content.

About the Developer:
Poland-based developer Scriptwelder is a well known creator of creepy web-based games, perhaps the most iconic of which is the Deep Sleep series, which has won multiple awards and been played by millions all around the world. The Don't Escape series began as a web game that inverted the classic escape-the-room formula... rather than trying to find a way out, players were instead trying to find a way to secure themselves within, usually from some sort of threat or danger. Don't Escape: 4 Days to Survive is his first full length premium game.
