What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We had a great experience running the original Train Valley in Early Access. It helped us to improve the game, tune the balancing and add new features. As a result, we're looking forward to working with the community again to make Train Valley 2 the best it can be.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Currently, we plan to be in Early Access for one year.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of Train Valley 2 will contain:
- 50 levels;
- 6 generations of locomotives;
- A fully-functional Level Editor with Steam Workshop integration;
- Modding support.
And of course, we will pay a great deal of attention to balancing the existing core mechanics.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is playable now, and contains the following features:
- 20 levels.
- 4 generations of locomotives.
- Level Editor (will be available for players during Early Access).”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The game's price will increase after Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We'll engage with the community primarily on Steam forums. We are eagerly waiting your feedback on both new features and the balancing of core gameplay. We'll also need help with testing the Level Editor, and the modding tools when they're ready.”

Update #9

Greetings fellow train lovers! Here comes our new update – and this time we have prepared something really special for you! First of all, we have implemented some important changes in Leaderboards. Now Global rank is not that intrusive, and you can just ignore it if you prefer. But if you do care about it, we have 2 more parameters to compete for: Funds (money earned in a particular level) and Real Time (real-life time you spent playing that level, considering downtime during pauses and 2x/4x game speed). Also, we added some nice charts with histograms showing the total number of results and your position. That should also make the balancing of workshop level times easier for its authors.

The second big thing is a new feature in the Level Editor called Store Production. It sends trains automatically every N seconds. These trains do not require your resources or workers, not even your locomotives – you just get an additional train to deliver and earn money out of it (check the new Workshop guide video for more details). This feature is pretty much inspired by the gameplay of the original Train Valley, and it can help you to set the pace of your levels. To illustrate how it works, we present to you our new workshop level called Canal. And we want you to experiment with this mechanics as well, so today we announce a new Levels Contest! The rules are simple: make a new level using Store Production as a part of gameplay. The most creative, beautiful, and polished levels will get great prizes: Train Valley 2 merchandise and Steam codes!

Check the list below for the full patch notes. Choo-choo!

Features added:

- New Leaderboards screen with histograms and additional parameters
- Your global rank level is hidden on the Levels map. Rank button opens leaderboards screen
- New "Store" production automatically sending trains.
- Some new objects added in level editor.

Bugs fixed:
- "Multilevel road" achievement does not appear when using a tunnel.
- Added filter for inappropriate symbols in Workshop level names.
- "Dealmaker" achievement now requires a locomotive to visit all the stations with the same cargo.
- "At the last moment!" achievement does not appear if the last train was stopped.
- Some localization fixes.

Stay tuned! :tv2conductor:
