Why Early Access?

“Outscape is currently ready for full-release according to the community and most reviews. We agree with this, but we have taken an unusual decision to keep Outscape in Early Access for a long time because we have decided against selling extra DLC for now. Instead we continue to heavily invest - adding regular new content and features to the core game. Early Access is the best label which describes the level of unusually high investment and new content being regularly added to the game (without selling DLC), keeping the universe very dynamic and interesting for everyone.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Outscape will remain in Early Access for several years, not because it's not ready, but because we are continuing to add new content very regularly, giving players new things to enjoy and discover. It keeps the game very interesting and dynamic. We plan to keep this level of investment though 2023 and beyond and hence it will keep the Early Access label for that timeframe”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“This version is the ‘Full Version’, but the Early Access label best represents how we are adding so much new regular content, with input and suggestions from the community, and without selling players extra DLC.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“It’s very stable, functionally complete, and is by all normal gaming standards the ‘Full and Final’ game.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We're excited to be able to offer the Early Access version of Outscape at a lower price than the full version. Of course Early Access players get any full version for free as and when that launches.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The community has been vital to our development process. This is truly a game built by the community for the community. Players can provide feedback and discuss ideas on the community forums and Discord, which our team then uses to plan each feature drop and content update. The game is so unique and different because of the vibrant community. If you have a good idea, there is a strong chance it will be picked up and added to the game.”
