What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Another Brick in the Mall is meant to be a complex simulation and as such, could go in a number of (possibly conflicting) directions.
The community feedback will help make important design decisions such as going for automation versus micromanagement, and organize priorities such as polishing current features versus adding new ones.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“As long as it takes to deliver a polished, bug-free experience with good replayability.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Here are some ideas that are considered or currently in development:

  • Shoplifting and security
  • Buses
  • More business types
  • Seasonal and random events
  • Custom starting conditions and difficulty
  • Music and improved sound design
  • Improved UI and quality of life
  • Achievements

While some of these are already being worked on, you should only buy the game if you want to play it as it exists now, not based on what it might some day become. Read the 'About this game' section below for a list of current features.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is fully playable and technically stable.

You should however be aware of the following:
The tutorial is minimal and it helps to be familiar with games with a similar building and zoning mechanism (Prison Architect, RimWorld).
There is no music.
Although everything will be done to avoid this, updates could make old saved games obsolete.

Read the 'About this game' section below for a list of current features.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will most likely increase as new content and features are added. The lower early access price is intended to thank early adopters for their support.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Feedback and suggestions from early adopters will be gathered from the Steam discussion boards and will help determine when and how new features and content are implemented.”

About This Game

Design, build and manage a giant shopping center. Open shops, supermarkets, restaurants, movie theaters, bowling alleys and more. Hire and manage the best staff for the job and milk your customers for all they're worth!

  • Design and build your center from the ground up. You are responsible for every road, parking, wall, floor tile, door, shelf, plant, you name it. Arrange them optimally, or to your liking, and create a unique shopping empire.
  • Thousands of characters and vehicles are simulated on screen, for that ant colony feel.
  • Hire your staff from a panel of applicants, making sure their skills match the job.
  • Deploy your workforce efficiently to keep the queues short, the shelves stocked and the floors clean.
  • Keep your customers happy and satisfied. Unsatisfied customers will not come back tomorrow and furious ones will make a stink and tarnish your reputation.
  • Adjust your profit margin on staple goods to attract more customers and prey on their cravings and addictions to trigger impulse purchases.
  • Starting your venture with limited funds, responsible accounting is paramount to your success. Open your first business, turn a profit, take out loans and expand progressively.
  • Or play in sandbox mode and carelessly spend your infinite money: “This is your world.”
