How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full game will feature procedurally generated levels, each with a few randomized quests along the way. There will be a few unlockable player classes, all with drastically different skillsets. Players will gain upgrades, sidegrades and skins for classes and their equipment as mission rewards. Along the game, players will also collect "memories" - interactive dioramas that will slowly unravel the story of the world of Trickster and lead up to final conclusion.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game includes two game modes - Adventure Mode, with procedurally generated levels and quests to complete - and Wave Attack, to practice your Orc handling skills. Orcs won't give you an easy time. There are about 8 different enemies, each with individual skillset. The sky arena changes randomly every round so you'll have to move around to have the advantage.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Finished game will have a higher price. Price will increase along the development process with big, game changing updates.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Update early, update often. Get feedback on experimental features as soon as they're ready to roll out. Expand things that shine the most. Don't waste time on stuff nobody uses. That's how we do things around here.”

Update 23: A Chef's Special

Greetings, Orc Hunters!
In today's update you're going to get a chance to challenge mighty Bronze Company - elite members of the Orcish Horde dispatched to deal with the incursions of our Heroes. Keep your wits about you if you ever meet them in the Broken Lands!

No hero goes to battle unprepared, so turn up the heat with a new weapon - a trusty Frying Pan. After all, there's no sound more pleasant to the ear than kitchenware meeting an Orc's skull.

Full Patch notes
  • New weapon added - Frying Pan. Just an ordinary frying pan. Or is it?
  • New enemies group added - The Bronze Company. These elite versions of normal enemies will appear rarely on the battlefield and pose a much bigger challenge.
  • Added new dropped item - Radiant Gem. Rare, but worth a lot of coins!
  • Added over 20 new voice tracks by our awesome James - UpstartCrowe
  • Added ammo barrels to Wave Attack mode to let you spam those crossbows to your heart's content.
  • A new option added in Region selection to allow friends from opposite sides of the world to play with each other.
  • Moonshot crossbow now comes with a small buckler.
  • Hit dummies will now show critical hits to better teach new players.
  • A deflect icon will be shown if a player hits an armored part of orc's body.
  • Teleport locomotion will now work much better when going uphill.
  • Teleport sound has been removed.
  • Level difficulty is now more visible on the portal before game is started.
  • Improved visuals for The Cyclone.
  • It will now be easier to aim teleport at some objects of interest (chests, ammo barrels).
  • Added ammo barrels to some quests that require long range weapons to complete.
  • Orc Healthbars will now be closer to their heads.
  • Fixed Ballistas not working in offline mode.
  • Fixed an issue were some drops would hang in the air in wave attack mode.
  • Fixed an issue where Rogue orcs would not attack player in Murder the Flock quest.
  • Conjured Spear will no longer misfire randomly. Players hand will be properly shown after spear is thrown.

Fight through the dusty storms of Torket region with trusty dual axes by your side, or just fireball everything using The Scorching Wand.

Patch Notes - Long Read!
  • Added a new ranged weapon: "Scorching Wand". Let's all be fire mages now!
  • Added a new melee weapon: "The Cyclone" dual axes, sporting awesome wolf heads.
  • Added a new region: Torket. This dried landscape is home to everlasting sandstorms. Beware of enemies hiding in the storm!
  • Added Quest plot Voice overs to loading screens. Cheers to UpstartCrowe for amazing work!
  • Added over 40 new orc lines by our great UpstartCrowe.
  • When playing in single player, Players will now have up to 3 Revives per level.
  • Grass and Snow regions will now sometimes be played in a delightful sunset conditions.
  • Added a Mute option to Party List and an Icon to show who's speaking.
    Vive users can now rotate their Play area by swiping left or right on the touchpad. Thanks to mykhrochyp for the tip!

  • Major performance improvements across all platforms - you should see over 25% more frames!
  • Healing a downed player in co-op games will now take 2 seconds, down from 4 seconds before.
  • Crossbows will no longer shoot when you're clicking something in the menu.
  • Game will now handle disconnects better - Player will no longer get stuck in the sky.
  • Smooth play area rotation is now available on every motion method besides teleport.
  • Walk direction based on controller is now available on Joystick Walk locomotion as well.
  • XP Books will now be picked up automatically when Player walks over it.
  • Quest briefing and its voiceover no longer will be displayed when Player returns from a mission.
  • Players can now freely walk through enemies as ghosts.
  • Locked items will now be visible in a grayed-out form to give players an impression of what the're missing!

  • Fixed an issue where Player would bounce off some terrain features when using walk locomotion.
  • Fixed an issue where enemies would sometimes ignore that they're being shot from afar.
  • Fixed a bug which stopped enemies from saying taunt voice lines in multiplayer games.
  • Fixed a bug which caused throwing knives to earn 70% less xp per use compared to other gadgets.
  • Fixed a bug where Guardian would notify player about nearby chest when other player gets close to one.
  • Fixed a bug where XP books would only add 1 xp to sheathed weapons.

  • Fixed numerous depth conflicts between Player View UI and world objects.
  • Fixed weird lines visible when animating into and out of Vignette.
  • Fixed Orc statue on Home Island sitting on its ass.

  • Walking through the ending portal when dead will no longer trigger the end of the level.
  • Fixed a bug where opening Upgrade menu via prompt on the pillar would not show the currently equipped item.
  • Teleport icon no longer obstructs Player's view for a split second when blink teleporting.
  • Fixed an issue where a stutter would occur after entering exit portal on host.
  • Fixed weird bolt trail graphic glitch during rapid shooting with a crossbow.
  • Fixed a bug where upgrade screen would not be properly placed, not open or show wrong item.
  • Fixed issues in matchmaking database that would cause too much data to be generated.
