Varför Early Access?

“The core of the game is done, but more time is needed for quality of life improvements, content, and since this game is currently being built in my free time, I want to provide players the option to help build it with me over time. As a solo indie developer who dreams of working on games full time, I am unable in today's job climate. 2DOM! is me putting my own foot in the door!”

“My goal is 6 months for the polished game to launch (if we continue at this rate), with a full campaign of levels, a more streamlined way to share levels publicly, and (my favorite part) the ability to customize most colors in a level, allowing you to create themes and upload them with your custom levels!

If the game is profitable early on, that may result in me converting to part-time or full-time, meaning faster updates and more content!”

Hur är det tänkt att den fullständiga versionen ska skilja sig från versionen i Early Access?

“Most major systems are complete, what's left is content, testing, and polish. What's planned:

* A full branching Campaign
* Custom Levels
* Themes
* Jukebox
* Map Panning/Zooming
* Gamemodes
* Drag Spawning
* Mobile controls
* Localization
* Your suggestions!

Maybe (but not a priority):

* Achievements
* Gamepad support

3 free post-release content updates are planned which will add more spawnables, more campaign branches. and new mechanics!

In no particular release order:

* Gravity: Gravity zones, planets, and black holes
* Control: Buttons, doors, wires, and logic gates
* Void: Portals (yeah, those portals), kill zone, and void zones

If the game is successful, more updates may be planned!”

Hur är det nuvarande läget i versionen med Early Access?

“Players have access to a puzzle level editor which you can use to build, test, save and load your levels. The soundtrack for the game is already included, featuring a mix of LoFi tracks with inspirations from Japanese music and game melodies, or that vibed or sounded interesting. There are also some standard settings available such as sound volumes.

Also, level saves are BACKWARDS COMPATIBLE! If you make a level with this version of the game, you can still play it at, or after, full launch!

Level saves are designed to be compatible for all versions. Major systems won't visibly change, but will be reworked. You may encounter bugs at any point in development, but I despise bugs and make them my priority.”

Kommer spelet att prissättas annorlunda under och efter Early Access?

“Early Access price will be discounted. I want as many people to play this game as possible and provide crucial feedback while also working towards becoming self-sufficient, so I want a price where both of us are happy.”

Hur planerar ni att involvera gemenskapen i er utvecklingsprocess?

“Players can give feedback on any platform that the game is available and this feedback will be used to shape the game. My primary focus is on bug fixing and polish, however new additions will be strongly considered. I am open to any suggestions.”
