What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“With Breach, we are looking for help from you, our community, to provide feedback as we continue to update additional content. The game itself is a polished, high quality experience, but we wanted to have it running in the wild a bit with a smaller audience (from whom we expect to get a ton of great feedback) before opening it up as a fully free-to-play game for all players.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We’re planning to make this period of Early Access relatively short, hopefully exiting Early Access before Summer 2019. Factors influencing that date will include direct community feedback and our adjustments surrounding, along with additions to the core game along the way.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“In the full version we intend to add some deeper story to help players understand the universe more completely. In addition, we will be adding more content (more classes, more levels, more customization options, etc.) frequently throughout our Early Access period.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current version of Breach has all major Game Modes (Solo, Co-op, Versus, and Custom), multiple Difficulty Levels, 18 Hero and 6 Veil Demon Classes with numerous customization options, three complete Mission Levels, each with their own sets of enemies, objectives and Boss Fight. There are many other features and pieces of content we are polishing and will be rolling out in the months between now and Early Access start.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. Breach will eventually be Free to Play once we exit Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Breach is doing some new things that cross between known genres. Listening to and working with the community to iterate on and build upon the game is very important to us. Our social channels have been open since announcement, actively engaging with fans and players. While we are a small company and won’t be able to respond directly to all feedback, if it is constructive and provides reasoning, it will certainly be read and acknowledged.”

Technical Alpha Testing Timeline

Before we get to the news, all of us here at QC Games want to extend a HUGE “Thank You” to everyone that either came to play Breach at Gamescom / PAX West, talked to us on our various social channels, or helped spread the word of Breach. As a new independent studio with a new IP, it means so much, and we’re excited to share Breach with the world.

Which brings us to the question of “Well, when can I play???

Below is our plan for the Technical Alpha stage, and beyond. If you’ve never been involved in a Technical Alpha before, it means that we are mostly testing backend systems and infrastructure to ensure stability.
  1. We’re taking all the feedback gathered from Gamescom and PAX and putting together a new build that will become our first Technical Alpha Test. We learned a ton from those early hands-on and chatting with everyone.
  2. Starting the second week of September, we’re then going to open the doors SLOWLY on Steam, with the initial round of invites. We know you all want to get your hands on the game ASAP, but our main goal is to maintain a stable service so everyone can play as they want, when they want, without issues. This means we’re going to do a few small tests (likely less than 300 total people invited for the first one), that will last for just a few hours or days each. This will likely last until Late September, at which point we will invite far more people and hope to start around-the-clock service (with downtimes for patching / maintenance).
  3. If you’ve already registered an Alpha Access Code via one you received at Gamescom or PAX to your account, you’re all set right now. If you don’t get into those early Alpha tests, don’t worry, since around the end of September is when we’ll be starting to open the faucet and let more folks in.
  4. If you haven’t registered a code to your account, we’ll start letting in more folks in October, before we begin our [TO BE NAMED] Beta period. In addition, we are still determining details on how and when Alpha testers will play in the Beta, and will share details on that in the future.
Our goal is to be as transparent as we can with all of you as we move forward, but all of these timeframes are subject to change as we work through the development process. Our final goal for release is to come out of Early Access in early 2019 as a free-to-play title, and we hope all of you will come along with us for the adventure.

Finally, one last “Thank You!” in advance for all of your patience as we continue to develop Breach, and joining our community this early in the process. Make sure to join our official Discord to chat not only with our dev team, but also with other players. We look forward to seeing all of you inside the Library of Alexandria soon!

About This Game

Seventy thousand years ago, humanity was on the verge of extinction until a group of Immortals created the Veil, splitting Earth into two realities: one that has the Earth we know, and an alternate Earth where all that we have come to know as mythology thrives. Now the Veil has been shattered and the two worlds are collapsing into each other with catastrophic consequences. You and your friends are among the rare few who can wield magic and defend humanity against this cataclysm.

Breach is a fast-paced third person co-op action RPG. Create your own character, customize your appearance, and choose from dozens of classes with gameplay inspired by multiple genres. Launch your enemies in the air and juggle them with rapid attacks. Play as a classic support healer. Sit on the edge of the action and snipe your enemies from a distance. Endlessly customize your character and class to find your own unique playstyle.

Take your unique character onto Missions across the globe in Solo or Co-op modes with any number of players up to 4. Fight your way through mythological monsters toward a final area where you will face a giant boss monster. Along the way you will be challenged by an all new kind of enemy, the Veil Demon. This smoke-like spirit can possess and empower any monster you encounter and create breaches, pulling in environmental hazards from the parallel, Mythological Earth.

In addition to playing as a Hero, you can also play as the Veil Demon in Solo or Versus modes! Breach also has a Custom mode where you can play with any number of friends (up to 5), playing as either a Hero or Veil Demon.
