Why Early Access?

“So much has been added to & changed with the Genome Guardian experience - I'm doing a lot of new things here, so it will take time to ensure I've got it right. The only way I'll know if I'm making the sequel YOU want is if you're able to playing it. My goal is to create the ultimate Genome Guardian experience for newcomers and be everything a sequel should be for fans of the first game. My skillset has greatly evolved since GG1, so I know now how to implement things like rebinding, localization, run save/load, loadouts, and massive performance improvements.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“3-6 months. I work fast - Genome Guardian 2's development is my sole focus.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The plan is to have more modes, Guardians, Paints, Patterns, parts for each part category, gadgets, and a handful of new mechanics. I'd like the story to be more fleshed out, and for a number of my "nice-to-have" ideas to be fully implemented.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The first mode is fully playable and roughly 1/3 of content is currently unlockable. All weapons, microbes, genes & chips are ready to be discovered. If you've fulfilled the unlock requirements of any content I add later in updates, you'll get it the moment you boot the game up! This is already a highly-polished experience ready to be played.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“No current plans to increase price later or on release!”
