What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Early Access lets us get Kinmen Kill into players' hands while we continue to build out the larger battle royale experience. The core FPV drone flight model, built on a BetaFlight style simulation, and a realistic Kinmen test map are already playable and useful for practicing real drone skills, but we still want feedback on controls, onboarding, performance, and combat scenarios. Our goal is to refine the physics and training experience with the community, then grow that foundation into full multiplayer modes and a large inventory of drone parts & items.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Our current target is to stay in Early Access for roughly one year and aim for a 1.0 release on March 18, 2027.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“For the full version we plan to add cross platform online multiplayer with matchmaking, a server browser. Our goal is to build a full battle royale experience plus additional modes such as team death-match, racing, and playing against bots. We also plan to expand drone weapons, drone parts and types, and progression systems, and to polish visuals, audio, UX, and accessibility based on what we learn during Early Access.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current Early Access version focuses on realistic FPV drone flight in a single player sandbox. It includes a detailed map of Lieyu in the Kinmen islands based on real world data, with roads, vegetation, and one procedurally generated building that changes layout between runs. Players can arm and fly a combat drone using realistic physics, experiment with different firing modes, and test ramming attacks that cause visible destruction. There is a simple NPC target that moves around the environment but does not yet take damage. There is no multiplayer, no long term progression, and many systems are still work in progress, so players should expect bugs, balance issues, and some placeholder art and UI.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Our current plan is to keep Kinmen Kill free to play both during and after Early Access. If we introduce optional paid content in the future, it would be in the form of cosmetic items or expansions and would not take away features that are already available to Early Access players.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to involve the community by sharing regular test builds, patch notes, and development updates, and by actively reading feedback on the Steam community hub and our other community channels. We already run recurring play-tests in Seattle and online to gather hands on feedback about controls, training flow, and balance. Player reports, surveys, and discussion will directly influence our priorities for new features, maps, and quality of life improvements throughout Early Access.”

About This Game

Kinmen Kill (金門殺) is a multiplayer battle royale game set in Taiwan's Kinmen islands, designed to realistically simulate FPV drone flying and combat to help prepare Taiwanese citizens for active defense against potential invasion. The core of the game emphasizes highly realistic physics, integrating BetaFlight directly into a custom-built 3D physics engine running at 8000Hz, matching BetaFlight's maximum gyro sampling rate, to closely replicate real FPV drone flight dynamics. We actively simulate advanced aerodynamic phenomena, such as ground effect, prop wash, and accurate drone response to piloting inputs, ensuring that in-game experience translates effectively to real-world FPV drone piloting. Available in Traditional Chinese and English, the game visually and narratively positions players as Taiwanese defenders against Chinese (CCP/PLA) adversaries, aiming to educate and motivate democratic self-defense tactics similar to Ukraine's drone warfare strategies.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Kinmen Kill uses a custom-built AI agent that operates directly within the Unity Editor to write code and develop the game.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

This game contains mature themes, including intense violence and strong language. It may depict scenes such as physical combat, injury, and death. The story also explores dark themes of political turmoil, invasion, and unrest.
