Cosa dicono gli sviluppatori:

Perché l'accesso anticipato?

“Acts 1-3 can be played to completion with access to acts 4-8 being possible. Act 8, the final act, is not yet finished and still lacks a significant amount of the planned content.

This game is in early access until I and the players can be sure that it can be completed without encountering any significant hardlocks, softlocks, frequent crashes, or other significant bugs that affect quality of life. I will also be watching review closely for feedback to further improve the gameplay experience as much as I reasonably can. ”

Per quanto tempo questo gioco rimarrà in accesso anticipato?

“Early access will last likely at least 6 months. This will give me time to finish writing the ”

Quali saranno le differenze fra la versione completa e quella in accesso anticipato?

“The early access game is the full game in its current state. Some areas may be inaccessible until completed and nearly all quests need to be added still. Acts 1-3 should be largely complete with acts 4-8 still missing significant portions of content.
Story is going to be a major focus of updates, along with quests and side quests to help build up both the world and characters. ”

Qual è lo stato attuale della versione in accesso anticipato?

“The game is fully playable until at least act 4 out of 8, about 6 to 10 hours. It should be playable up until the final act, but have not been extensively tested. Everything in the 'About this' section has been implemented into the game. ”

Il prezzo del gioco varierà durante e dopo l'accesso anticipato?

“I plan to gradually raise the price as I develop new content and features.”

Come pensi di coinvolgere la Comunità durante il processo di sviluppo?

“Player feedback will directly impact the story and balance of the game going forwards. Communication through reviews, email, and the discord server will allow me to address questions and concerns the community has, as well as take your feedback and improve aspect of the game that need work or are not clear.

Calvin's Gallery is a classic RPG with a focus on exploration and find answers throughout the world. Hidden areas dot the map, each one containing a small piece of lore that help build the world around you. 4 collapsed kingdoms surround your struggling village, people and items are missing from town, no one can remember what happened before now. It's time to start asking questions and looking for answers that no one can find.

Mark 2: Calvin has a second mark that has a different effect based on who triggers it.

Joan: Joan gains the Inspired status (+10% magic damage)

Louis: All party members are healed a small amount and regain some magic.

Margaret: The target gains the Bleeding status (DOT and more damage from attacks)

Speedy: The target is inflicted will all of Speedy's marks

Dragon: Dragon gains the Flight status (+25% evasion, +10% crit chance, +10% hit rate)

Calvin is the hero of the story. He learns a wide range of skills that allow him to complement any party. Spells, healing, elemental strikes, and finishing moves that can clear the battlefield. Not only is he the leader, he is a powerful character that will cement any strategy.

Name: Joan

Class: Mage

Mark: Gives the Inspired status (+10% magic damage) to whoever triggers the mark.

Can be swapped with Candace.

Joan is a young mage who will rapidly grow in power. Her spells deal elemental damage, inflict status effects, and are great at handling both large groups and single enemies. In addition, she can equip different spell books to give her even more ways to buff the party or deal damage.

Name: Margaret

Class: Warrior

Mark: Inflict the enemy with the Bleeding (DOT and increased damage taken) status once triggered.

Can be swapped with Dragon.

Margaret specializes in high damage melee attacks, high defense, and physical status effects. She is the best character for causing the Bleeding status and one of the few who can inflict sunder. Her shield wall ability also lets her draw enemy attacks towards herself to give the rest of the team room to breath.

Name: Louis

Class: Priest

Mark: Whoever triggers his mark gains a small amount of magic regeneration.

Can be swapped with Speedy.

Louis is a well rounded character that can deal high damage, AOE damage, and heal the party. He can also learn skills to cure specific status effects, making him a great asset when entering the forest, lava flats, and orc caves. His mark is one of the most powerful if used properly, allowing your other magic users to stay topped up on MP and dishing out heavy damage.

Name: Speedy

Class: Cleric

Mark: Gives a random stat boost (+25% HP, MP, Atk, Def, Mat, Mdf, Agi, and/or Luk) to whoever triggers it.

Can be swapped with Louis.

Speedy is the most powerful healer in the game, in addition to the character who can take the most additional actions in the game. She starts with 2 to 3 actions per turn and can get up to 8 in a single turn with the right gear and some luck. In addition to healing, she can blind enemies and deal heavy amount of AOE damage with her grenade skills.

Name: Candace

Class: Heavy Gunner

Mark: Whoever triggers the mark gains +25% max health and a small amount of health regeneration for a short time.

Swaps with Joan

Candace is a kind hearted artificer who knows how to defend herself. Most of her skills are themed around her various firearms, allowing her to hurl damage and status effects at any enemy on the battlefield. She has a few buff skills with her primary focus being on damage and leaning how to combo her different skills for maximum effect.

Name: Dragon

Class: Dragon

Mark: Whoever triggers it gains the Dragon Shield status, granting a range of defensive buffs while also making all enemies target them. This powerful mark must be used carefully to keep the wrong party member from gaining it.

Dragon also has the same secondary mark that Calvin has.

Swaps with Margaret

Dragon is an immensely powerful being who can be brought back from the dead. Once alive, he eagerly joins the party and lends a hand. Unfortunately he cannot speak, making communication difficult.

He uses a range of breath attacks to inflict specific status effects on small or large groups of enemies, along with powerful cleaving strikes that can deal heavy damage to up to 3 targets. He uses 2 heavy weapons at the same time and has the highest stats out of any party member, at the cost of needing significantly more EXP to level up.

Woodcutting:

Building bridges requires materials. Fallen logs are common in the valley forests, you'll need to keep some in stock if you want to reach some areas. The shop in town also sells wood if you need some in a hurry.

Mining:

Small outcrops of ore and stone dot the resource rich valley where Calvin's begins his journey. Stone, metal, and powerful upgrade items can be harvested from them.

Fishing:

Tired from a long day of adventuring? Take a rest at the local fishing hole and catch some fish. There are 11 different fish that can be caught in Calvin's gallery, with some only being found in very specific areas. Bring them to speedy for special rewards.

Gardening:
Plants grow fast in the valley. There are four plants you can grow: Herbs, magic fruit, treasure plants, and crystal plants.

Herbs: A mix of different herbs that are great for brewing different healing items and cooking food.

Magic Fruit: Fruits that permanently increase HP or MP of whoever eats them.

Treasure plants: Grow your own treasure chest!

Crystal Plants: A wide range of crystal and gem items that can be used in combat, sold, or used to increase your attributes.

The graveyard:

One of the first areas you explore and a major place of interest as you level up.

In the graveyard are a series of small shrines for each character. At these shrines you can spend points to increase specific stats, allowing you to directly influence the growth of your team. You can also select 'random' to randomly allocate the attribute bonuses.

Combat!

When you aren't working hard to mine and garden, there are monsters to fight! Over the last few generations, monsters have infested the valley that was once lush and peaceful. Spirits have become violent, plants rise up to block your path, even the barren caves have become infested with vile things.

Calvin's Gallery features turn based combat with a wide range of skills, items, and status effects. Instant skills add a unique depth to each fight, allowing both you and the enemy to act multiple times as long as you have the TP and MP. Agility determines your place in the turn order and many skills have a speed rating as well that affects when you are able to act. Spells are usually slow, sword are fast, try out different combinations and explore the skills you learn to figure out what works the best.

Elements:

There are 8 elements in Calvin's Gallery, learning to use these will let you survive and dominate in an unforgiving world.
Fire: Weak to water, strong against earth. Often inflicts burning statuses.

Water: Weak to air, strong against fire. Often inflicts the stagger status.
