Every character you choose in DEFLATE comes with its own unique set of timbres.
But the real magic lies in the longest key on your keyboard — the Spacebar.

Press the Spacebar as the falling bar reaches the line to enter Melody Mode.
Become a melody runner: strike classic falling notes with precision, perform the song’s intricate and expressive lead lines, and enjoy the pure thrill of your fingertips dancing across the keys.

Or press the Spacebar in time with the falling bar to instantly switch into Drum Machine Mode.
Become the heartbeat of the rhythm as the screen transforms into a classic two-step drum machine sequencer.
Lay down kicks and snares by hand and build the rhythmic backbone that drives the entire track.
