☯ Introduction

Shrine Raider is a Story Focused Danmaku Game that you play as Regina, a shrine maiden from a small shrine in a far away village. 

☯ Story Prologue

One morning, as Regina was about to start her daily duties at the shrine with her big sister, she noticed that her smaller sister and one of the three sacred relics of the shrine, the "Star of Miracles" were missing! They searched around but found no traces of them so Regina decided to leave the shrine and search the nearby area.

☯ Gameplay

You move in 8 directions from a top-down perspective while shooting down enemies, collecting items and dodging enemy fire (bullets).

While playing the game you will collect many different items. Some will have instant uses (like clearing all bullets on screen or collecting all items nearby), others will be bombs and others will change Regina's shoot type for a certain period of time. Some of those transformations are:

Maiden Regina
Shoot in a straight line!
Low Movement Speed, Low Focused Movement Speed, Powerful Shoot Type, Short Range.

Ninja Regina
Throw mini-shuriken forward!
Mid Movement Speed, Mid Focused Movement Speed, Very Powerful Shoot Type, Short Range.

Idol Regina
Emit note bullets in all directions!
Low Movement Speed, Low Focused Movement Speed, Powerful Shoot Type, Wide Range.

Tamer Regina
Summon Fairies that will assist you in shooting down enemies!
Fairies will shoot forward during stages but will aim at enemies during boss fights.
High Movement Speed, Low Focused Movement Speed, Light Shoot Type, Very Wide Range.

The game contains the following modes:

• Story Mode (The main game)
• Extra Mode (The main game set in a higher difficulty with additional story and bosses)
• Practice (Replay a specific Stage, Boss Fight or Spellcard to master it)
• Boss Rush (Face all bosses one after another and show them who's the real boss!)
• Challenges (For those who think the main game was easy)
• Miniskits (Bonus story content with interactions between the characters)
• Music Room (Listen to any music track from the game, all are unlocked from the start)
• Achievements (For those who like to 100% games, will give you a star on the main menu upon completion)

Other

• Unlike many other danmaku games, touching enemies or bosses will not cost you a life.
• The life systems works with graze, you gain additional lives by grazing bullets.
• The more lives you have, the more graze points will be required for an additional life.
• You can hold only 1 bomb at a time.
• (death-bomb) If you get hit and have a bomb, you have 0.5 seconds to press the bomb button and save yourself.
• There are a few secrets scattered around.
